Vote Yes or No

(and then add as much chit chat to your post as you wish)

My vote is : No

Iceland has no army and no terrorist problems. It's a bit chilly there but they provide a safe place for their inhabitants

It'll make us look like we're doing something useful, whilst achieving nothing, other than radicalising a few more dumbfks.

It needs to be won on the ground

No.

France, America and Russia are doing it anyway.

At some point there will be troops on the gorund to finish the job. Let the above get on with it.

Concentrate on security at home. Remove the Fifth column.

In other news, immigration from OUTSIDE Europe was 190 000 in the year up to June. How many of those are nutters from Pakistan etc?

beggars belief that Cameron and the Tories were within a whisker of bombing Syria in support of the "rebels" just over two years ago.

They won't be European. Daesh want the Yanks on the ground, that won't happen til the Yanks get mullered on home turf. Once that happens (and it will) the next administration (if GOP) will send troops in. All this bombing will do is increase terrorist attacks on European and others soils as well.
By:

When: 26 Nov 15 14:14
Yup - it will increase the hatred.

Imagine a scenario where male migrants already in Europe hear the news that a British plane has mistakenly bombed their family...

I can't see the Yanks on the ground with Russia involved. But I agree it's what Daesh want.

What's the point in bombing Syria when the caliphate covers Syria AND Iraq?  Bombing will do little anyway, the large underground structures in Sinjar shows they are well organised against bombing raids, they only lost Sinjar beacuse of the kurdish troops on the ground.  Saying bombing Syria is to protect the UK is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard, but it's all just games for politicians anyway.

its madness again and makes a terrorist attack in this country more likely not less likely.

imo as soon as someone becomes an mp all their relatives of fighting age should be forced to join the armed forces safe in the knowledge that in the event of war they will be amongst the first to be sent to the battle field.

No (again)

It's almost as if the politicians are being controlled by big business - in this case armaments industry - but of course they represent the people in a Western democracy like ours.

So it will be ok because the people don't want it ... and it worked out ok with the Iraq war ... we didn't want it, we were lied to and our politicians went to war (well poor soldiers did while politicians fiddled (their expenses)) ... our politicians are indeed brave men.

We were told that invading Afghan was also to keep Britain safe.

Truly bizarre logic.

I actually feel like having a laminate made of this:

the church ruled through the weapon of the unknown
that was replaced when tyranny clawed back control through monarchs (devine right)
civil wars had the dream of breaking tyranny with parliament
only for parliament to sell off control to enterprise
By:

When: 26 Nov 15 14:42
dusty ... I could weep at how our politicians couldn't care less about the "man in the street".

I know it's a wicked thought and I hate myself for even thinking this, but if the mad mussies want to kill anybody, target our politicians ... sadly, I for one wouldn't shed too many tears.  Sorry, really sorry.SadSadSadSadSad

Then things might change.

So a poll on a Thursday afternoon of a betting forum (complete with conspiracy about the arms industry, ffs, where do these people come from) is the true barometer of the UK population?

Parliament, Gallup, ComRes give up, you've been superceded...

I dont for a second suggest chit chat are representative of the collective, similarly not mumsnet either.
However Id suggest neither are the representation of the political class, and that was my point.
You want to know what the people here believe? the ask the people not a clique invested into things or individuals brainwashed.

The wisdom of crowds.

I was the one who posted about being good for business for the arms industry that you dismissed as conspiracy.
We have big business selling arms, I worked for the MoD and BAeS.
I wouldn't dismiss my posts as conspiracy stuff.

NO, they haven't given us a honest explanation of our strategy for at least two years. Assad may not be nice but it does appear there are much worse behind the scenes and need someone like ASSAD to keep a lid on it.
