Unfortunately the PC BBC wont show his finest work as a tribute (Til death Us Do Part).

Alf Garnett has to be one of the best TV characters ever

There's quite a few episodes on Youtube, look up the Bournemouth holiday one, its one of the best.

Aye,we can't expect to see the usual eulogies from the BBC on him, can we ?
Report A_T • November 14, 2015 12:19 PM GMT
of course we can you do realise Alf Garnett wasn't real?

*sigh* another stealth attack on multiculturalism thread.

He played a dodgy car park manager in The Sweeney. I did not know he'd done physics at university.
Report Lee Ho Fooks • November 14, 2015 2:06 PM GMT
He started a physics degree

Loved it when someone said something politically correct.  He was fuming, wanted to disagree, but could not. Laugh
Rest In Peace.

he was the leading figure in moderation and tolerance , by playing the predjudiced  person alf garnett .watching alf must have been a bit like looking in a mirror for some of the audience , not me of course . on a personal note he was jewish ,but never let that stop him playing the part .

Wonderful actor, his timing and delivery were superb.

My favourite line was when he was dreaming about playing for England @ cricket and he said 'whack...8' when questioned as to how he got more than the maximum 6 he said it was such a good shot they gave him 8 Laugh

TDUDP
One of the funniest shows to be put on the telly.
It was compulsive viewing at the time.

And Mitchell was born to play the part of Alf.

''Silly moo, scouse git,'' And the rest.

That cricket scene is great,  bowling and he breaks viv richards bat and viv says "look what you done to my bat". Alf says "take a look behind you mate and see what I done to your stumps".

Also that Jimmy Savile line..."that eeeevil middle aged albino clunk click ponce"
