They are there 27 songs are they using US as well? I find it hard to believe they had 27 individual number 1's combining the US and UK?

Mecca  I feel fine has one of the finest intro's of any song. On my list it is on a par with Baba O'Riley

For what its worth, my top five Beatles songs (irrespective of Number 1's) are

A day in the life
I wanna hold your hand
In my life
Strawberry Field forever/Penny Lane (double A side I think)
While my guitar gently weeps.

No idea what the total number should be, but I thought there were five singles that were number one in the US that were NOT number one in the UK.  Yesterday of course being one.  Someone will know the others!!.    Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane is prob another.

One final thought - They are probably counting the double A sides in US and UK as two songs (which of course they are!) and then deduping, in which case the total could easily be 27'ish
