According to the spiel at the start of the series, they are all still in business.

Daily Mail to the rescue.

Tom's nail files are in the shops. I've got his nail clippers in front of me now. They do what it says on the tin.

Ricky's recruitment agency has 40 jobs, which does not sound very many.

Dr Leah offers botox to make you look nice.

Mark does something online.

So no jaw-dropping successes as yet.

Ram...
Thanks for the update.

I was thinking of starting my own Apprentice thing - sort of inviting young ladies round and offering an investment to partner with them, but wife said NO!

what a sad coont Alan Sugar is. One failed business after another, with a few successful ones thrown in. Spends most of his life working and thinks that makes him a success Laugh

what i dont understand is why these great examples of capitalism dont retire and enjoy the fruits of their success. imo it makes them a sad bunch. 'chilax and have some fun'. it seems to prove my view that having a lot of cash does not make them happy per se. they are even sadder than those of us who chase the dream and hope to give up afyer winning on betfraud!

Stuart Baggs did not commit suicide. He died after an asthma attack.

Sounds like my betting. Umpteen losers and a few winners. Sugar's up to the tune of a billion quid, according to the papers, so I guess the successful businesses must have outweighed the failures.

Because you don't hear about the ones who do sell up and go and live on a tropical island. The people who keep going, and who make hundreds of millions, aren't doing it for the money. And it is not just in business: most top sports people could afford to retire tomorrow. Federer, Messi and Lewis Hamilton aren't short of a bob or two. The people who founded my old employer made £30 million each in the dot com boom, and retired in 2002. Retirement lasted a couple of years till they had a new idea and started another company which, according to its website, has offices on three continents. These people are driven (doubtless lucky as well, because hard work and ambition aren't enough, of course. Life's not fair like that.)

And it works the other way too. The people who don't have the inner drive to keep working, whether that means looking for the deal or practising free kicks, probably won't make it in the first place. Some will, and they are the ones who are more likely to retire to play golf or follow the sun. Me, I'd chuck it in tomorrow if I could.

Ramrura, have you thought about going on the show?  You seem to be obsessed by it
Report Ramruma • November 6, 2015 10:12 AM GMT
Not obsessed: just bored and responding to questions. I may have misled you if you think I am a young, thrusting entrepreneur.

Quite ironic that those high achiever, driven, successful people who seem to be very motivated to achieve things that are generally measured in money…
when they get it all and loads of money, they just keep on working really hard and late into their lives like people who haven't got any money.

Because McD's has some chairs and tables doesn't make it "a restaurant"!

Many apologies over getting the Stuart Baggs cause of death wrong, could have sworn I read it somewhere. Must have been somebody else.
