Lazy cliche.  The people in London are as friendly as anywhere in the UK, lots come from all over the UK.  They are the same people in London as they are when they go home to the part of the Uk they came from.  Cram people on to the underground anywhere in the world and you'll find they behave in a similar manner.

The 'City' of London once had a wall built around it that had 7 gates; Bishopsgate, Ludgate, Cripplegate, Moorgate, Aldgate, Aldersgate and Newgate. The idea behind the wall was to keep the King out (if memory serves) and to enter the 'City' the king had to ask permission from the mayor. If it was granted a key would be issued so the king could enter. If I am not mistaken this tradition still holds today (at Ludgate?) where the queen needs to seek permission to enter. I have not researched this for many a year but if I am wrong I will stand corrected but I think I am close to the mark. For the record, some of that wall still stands today.
Report rob_dylan • October 13, 2015 5:43 PM BST

Report boxingthefox • October 13, 2015 10:29 PM BST
I know the apartments but did not know that they had snaffled that address, Money talks, I suppose some/most are owned by absentee "investors" ?

absentee investors indeed boxingthefox. there is a big development in vauxhall called st georges wharf, i read a report yesterday that said at night the lights are only on in about 20% of the entire plot, i know thats not scientific but its a sad state of affairs for sure, imo.
