I think the operator just fobbed you off tbh
Its the same with lots of renewals. They just assume people are lazy and let it roll over so charge full price. If you phone them up theyll put you on the better rate. Did it with the AA about 2 weeks ago |

If you're over 50 try switching to a company like Age Concern or the like; I literally saved £100's by doing this. Another twist is if you do low mileage. The lower the annual mileage the lower the premium in a lot of cases but be careful not to under-quote your actual mileage otherwise they may not pay out on a claim. Finally, listen to Zazu (above); rather than lose you they will offer you a better rate.

on the same theme, i asked for 1year insurance, got rid of the car after 10 months.
Clearly i ticked boxes that signed me up for the 2nd year. that was never clear on my agreement. The short of it they tried to charge for the 2nd year on an old card, got a bill for £78 for there troubles, told them to fook themselves. Put 6 months of their sh1te in the bin ![]() I should had claimed the last 2 months back, but i thought out of duty and good cover, go on. |

Whereas I can entirely agree that you should ring you company regarding a lower quote (ie The New Policy rate) you should be wary of letting your insurance lapse.
Remember, you are not covered during those times. Bad things can happen! |
