When I was at school it was drummed into us that spelling and punctuation helped illustrate a grasp of the nuances of the language and by extension intelligence. What I've observed on the internet seems to suggest that either there isn't as much emphasis on such things now or that the internet is a democratising tool allowing pig ignorant dopes equal ability to foist their idiocy on intelligent people.

Which is it?

As I alluded to before acquiesce12 there was a clear and deliberate reason why I spelt my name in the way I chose. Now leave the grown ups to to discuss serious matters. That way we can progress the discussion and you don't lose your turn on your mother. I think the Americans call that a win win.

I see things very much as Crips states. It's about the flow and understanding behind sentence construction. As a general rule, not exclusively, where words such as and, or etc are used I often find it helps not to use a comma unless one is specifically called for.

No there wasn't you thick ****, you f*cked up spelling your own name correctly and now you look like a complete and utter contradictory prick with this thread...there's no coming back, the irony is too greatLaughLaughLaughLaugh

I don't need to for a half wit like you. I drop things far more intelligent than you down the bog after a decent vindaloo.

Now don't forget your number. It's like the supermarket and if you lose your turn who knows when you'll next get special rates on family conjugal rights?

You thick c**t, the very first think you ever tried to spell on here and you got it wrong and this thread has spectacularly backfired on youLaughLaughLaughLaugh

I'll tell you what dikssplash. Take a straw poll of people you know (outside the asylum) and see how many spell eternal with two e's. My guess is it will be somewhere between 0 and 1 out of a hundred which will translate as 0 if you exclude your blow up doll. So then try to converse with the logical side of your brain and see if that can convince the side which enjoys flinging shiit at the wall just to see if it sticks. Good luck.

There's no coming back from that. Even a tramp like acquiesce12 who lives in a dustbin and who wanders into the local library to log on, pretends to be a customer at McDonalds so he can have a wash, has to have some sense of shame surely?

How do they say it in your world old boy?

You have made a thread taking the piss out of those who cannot spell, yet you're so incredibly thick yourself, you forgot to which username you logged in as to post the threadLaughLaughLaugh

Well you've had your two minutes to impress me soft lad and so poor was your response that I've spent the last few hours looking in the local pond for your relatives. Shallow end of course. And what would be the point of saying hello to the Aborigines' on your behalf? Either they don't know you or they do and spend most of their time trying not to step in you.

In answer to your question you don't compete with me. Your ceiling is my floor and if you even dream you can best me you need to wake up and apologise.

Spelling is extremely important in my view, EO, I love the English language and its careless usage on fora such as these is truly depressing.  Nothing vexes me more than making a mistake myself, however, my posts might not always be perfect but it's not for the want of trying.

I don't want to brag, but I will.

When I was 8 years old I won the class prize for getting 50 out of 50 correct spellings.

It was a book called Stubby ... can't remember rest of it.

So, yes, spelling is important if you want to win spelling prizes.

I should add that in those days, it was a hard life.

No cental heating, no colour tvs, only BBC.  Holidays were 1 week in Scarborough.

So don't talk to me about spelling ... that book kept us warm for a week!
