Can't get away from it these days, and if you didn't hear it, don't  worry as it is clearly spelt out in the subtitles!

A far cry from my innocent youth when, in 1966, we all gathered at a girl's parents house, to wait for the much publicised promise that Andy Warhol would say the word,
whilst on the back of a motorcycle!

I recall that we had to wait till after midnight and, due to poor transmission, it was unclear as to whether he did or did not say it!

Shocking none the less!!!

No, Kenneth Tynan on the BBC, 1965, and he stuttered.

Although I use it myself now and then I don't like hearing it on the TV.

I wonder what David Frost would have thought of his nice family programme ending up as it has, in the hands of the loathsome Keith Lemon. One f word per programme is a must, apparently.

On one hand it's nonsense because there is nothing intrinsically wrong with any word, just the emphasis we put on it but on the other its use especially liberally really does indicate a lack of thought and/or vocabulary. I like to use it for shock value or humour but beyond that in certain circumstances I'm as guilty as the next man in not enjoying its use.
