Bond is based on a white man. That doesn't make it racist to think a black James Bond is absurd.

OK, to clarify:
I frequently argue against the overly anti-immigration brigade on here. I wouldn't give a toss if the next British PM were black. I think that we British generally overrate ourselves and fear other cultures, which is one reason that I left the UK. But Robert Downey Jr, although fine as Iron Man, was ridiculous as Sherlock Holmes, and Idris Elba, though great as Stringer, will, imo, be ridiculous as Bond. |

lol wasn't insinuating you were racist but merely out of touch, Bond is a dated franchise that has predictable inclusions in every film, a black bond would be a refreshing change and could work if the right actor played him.

of course james bond should be white.
that's his character, a white Englishman late 30's to mid 40's and should have a thick head of brown hair. (hence I don't like Daniel craig as james bond) just as a white man could not portray martin luther king. |
