Getting treated to this on Saturday.

Question...aside from an embarrassed smile, what does one wear for the event?

Report sofiakenny September 2, 2015 11:52 AM BST

Report Ramruma September 2, 2015 12:00 PM BST
From http://spa.sangthai.co.uk/ it seems to depend on what sort of massage you have -- through your shirt or not.
Report Aunty Post September 2, 2015 12:00 PM BST
I think I'll have a miserable ending, as I didn't even want to go!
Report Rockinron September 2, 2015 12:07 PM BST
I've had numerous "Thai Massages" in Bangkok & Pattaya - all with a happy ending ;-)
I don't think they cared what I was wearing ...
Not to mention the "no hands bar" in Patpong ...Ooooh that was different.
Report Ramruma September 2, 2015 12:16 PM BST
Tbh after eating spicy Thai food, I'd not risk anyone pressing on my abdomen. Maybe have the massage first.
Report Aunty Post September 2, 2015 12:44 PM BST
Yup, the massage is first
Report Kit-Kat-Dan September 2, 2015 1:57 PM BST
I live about 5 mins walk from the Sangthai - never had a massage but the food is very good.

Trouble I found ...lot of the girls not long off the farm & short of manners ..
I mean I'm having a very nice BJ ...and this lovely 19 year old let  go a loud fart !
Jesus Christ ...she didn't even bat an eyelid !
Report akabula September 2, 2015 7:17 PM BST
Did she charge you extra?

Better out than in.

I should add ...didn't mean to disrespect Thailand or the people - I love the place (been more than 20 times) ...the people are great, they love the British - they're so friendly - can be as cheap as chips, Hotels, eating out etc.. and some of the most fabulous Hotels in the World (Oriental, Shangri La)
They even let me play in a band over there ...Ahhhh it's Eric Crapton !
Report PatraTheCat September 3, 2015 12:23 AM BST
If you wear a tie, you'll be set up for a few classic puns.
Report akabula September 3, 2015 12:42 AM BST
Is it the scenery that attracts you ron? Blush
Report Rockinron September 3, 2015 12:29 PM BST
Just love the whole experience akabula...the people, food, fun nights out (Patpong, Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza)  trips on a long tailed boat up the Chao Praya river to the snake show, breakfast on the terrace of the Oriental Hotel....when we come back to the UK - it's like coming back to the "dead zone".

Last time I was out there was 1987.  Bunch of us took a two day train journey up from Singapore.  Changed trains at KL & Butterworth.  Padang Besar (Malay / Thai border) a most wonderful place.

Stayed in the Hotel Malaysia, Bangkok.  Can't remember the place we stayed at in Pattaya.

Most beautiful, friendly, respectful, honest, happy, smiley people I've ever come across.  No double entendre intended!

Like Ron says, the experience was amazing and coming back through Heathrow customs was like walking through the entrance to the Land of the Dead.

Sometimes makes me wonder why immigrants want to come here.

Of course, the breaking news is that no groping & grub for me now....Sad

Bangkok is the best city in the world.

Taxi from one end of the city to the other is about £2
If you don't like the 'straight from the farm' girls you can play with a thai penthouse model for a £100 or so.
You don't realise how friendly the people are until you come back to the UK and everyone's an awkward miserable ****
Report MadVlad September 3, 2015 6:56 PM BST
^ reminds me of the time in prague when my mate wanted to book a time with a stunner, was 2pm in the afternoon but the earliest she was available was 2am pmsl really wheres the romance ?

Well! How did it go? Talk about master of the anti-climax.
Report Aunty Post September 7, 2015 9:28 AM BST
Sorry kenny, I thought everyone would realise it was cancelled, due to my grandson being born early by "C-Section".
Report kenny mann September 7, 2015 11:53 AM BST
I see, sorry old chap. Glad it worked out well.
Report Ozymandius September 7, 2015 11:59 AM BST
It's funny I have always found the Thai's to be the least friendly, least welcoming people in Aisa.

As the first package holiday destination in Asia they have long since tired of their visitors.  It is a magnet for perverts and n'err do wells from all over the world, so their impression of foreigners is fairly low.

I also find the Thai men rather macho and menacing.  You daren't crumple a bank note for fear of disrespecting the King, if you do the fists will invariably fly.  Thailand is one of the few countries never to have been colonised by a European power and this lends itself to a climate of uncivilised lawlessness and political instability.

I'm all in favour of 'pay for play', but even I draw a moral line at an Uncle auction off his neices on a street corner etc etc.

If you like Thailand you will probably love most other parts of Asia.

If I see you I'll give you a wave....Laugh

Escrick is a splendid village, and I've done good business there for Charles Forbes Adams, and "Escrick Estates".

Have had a few meals at "The Parsonage" and a lunch at whatever the pub is called.
Report Aunty Post September 7, 2015 12:17 PM BST
That was to Kit-Kat-Dan and is somewhat out of synch for some reason!
Report Rockinron September 7, 2015 1:07 PM BST
The problem with Thailand these days ...and Pattaya in particular - whereas in the past most visitors were in the age group 40+ (I've been going since 1988) - nowadays the "young dumbs" have started going there instead of Ibifa and Aya Napa etc ..and all they seem to want to do is go out get pissed be very loud do drugs and get into a fight ! British being the worst.
All this totally contrary to Thai custom.
