I have two codes i need cracking. I have cracked A,B,C,E but i cant crack D and F

Ive looked for codes or ciphers but just cant find the right ones for these.

If it helps there is a connection between all 6 answers and the answers i have so far are

A = GLEN CANYON DAM
B = WESTMINSTER
C = ALCANTARA
E = ROYAL TWEED

so im pretty sure the connection is bridges, so im sure we are looking at cracking them and both being bridges. but need the names of both and kinda what the cipher/code was

anyone any ideas?

I think my photo is attached!! but its not showing anyway!

I took it from your photo section on your profile by right clicking on the image and selecting 'copy image link' then posting the link of here and just put in the image links,[*img]  and [*/img] ) either side of the link, (leaving out the asteriks, only put them in there so it would post here without disappearing)
You can do the same without waiting for the mods but taking out where it says 'thumb' and one of the '/' signs next to it and putting in the [*img] [*/img] codes either side again.

oh yes, what do you think the connection is?
Report blackjackking August 26, 2015 8:36 AM BST
apparently the connection is a 3 word common "out of this world" term
Report kincsem August 26, 2015 8:39 AM BST
The link might be about shipping.
A. known locally as "the ship of the Fens"
B. replaces the Kingsferry Bridge, which previously carried the A249, suffers from two major drawbacks: It has only one lane in each direction and as traffic to and from the island increased over time it became a bottleneck.
Secondly, it is a vertical-lift bridge. It needs to be raised regularly to allow marine traffic to pass under it, leading to lengthy traffic delays.
C. is a lighthouse
D. it is one of the highest points in London.  The name is also linked to the Second World War, where it was the site of an array of anti-aircraft guns which protected London.
Report blackjackking August 26, 2015 9:09 AM BST
maybe Kincsem, don't think I could find a 3 word "out of this world" term for it though. D is a bit hazy to do with shipping... I confess I don't have a Scooby! I guess when we have the right connection and answer we will know.

I think its more the places rather than the landmarks for the connection. I think the landmarks are just so the area is identifyable

Did you ever discover the answer to your original puzzle, BJK?  Regards this one, your mention of out of this world coupled with the Ely Cathedral link made me think of UFOs.  There was a very famous sighting in America at a place called Ely.

I still don't know this one, looked into the UFO route but couldn't find a connection with the other answers. ely/isle of Sheppey/london(shooters hill)/mull of Galloway... I cant find a connection yet but im sure it wont be far away... hoping the link isn't too tenuous.

Ok guys here is another puzzle.... until we can get any further with the previous!

Below is a set of incomplete coordinates. There will be a code to break the Letters into numbers... then they will replace the numbers in the co-ordinates to find the correct location. Can you work out the values.....

BY THE WAY IM STUCK ON ABOUT 50 PUZZLES.... THIS BEING ONE - AND YES IVE SOLVED PLENTY MYSELF.

The only clues are that letters A to T are replaced by numbers 1 to 20 A = 20 and J = 17

Checksum for all digits in co-ords is 58
Report blackjackking August 28, 2015 7:35 AM BST

Report Foinavon August 28, 2015 1:55 PM BST
They are possibly letters in a well known phrase. J is the 17th letter in "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" but A is not the 20th unfortunately, it is the 30th. You might wish to sub the letters in your puzzle to see it it makes sense.

Ok guys heres another :-

SMALL+CACHE = HIDDEN where the letters stand for the digits 0 to 9.

The cache is located at:

North SS° HS.EHN
West IIH° SD.EMH

Now I know S=5, I=0, H=1

I know that because of the location that my find will be in (its in the north east area and its within one mile of a pub so would have to start N55 and W001. Hopefully my tiny start helps you guys work out how you ascertain the right code for each letter to make it work.
Report blackjackking September 2, 2015 10:46 PM BST
any ideas to this puzzle?
Report FlowerMyth September 2, 2015 11:57 PM BST
I've just come in and have been working on it. See if you agree with me, I'm not sure but:

C = 4

I think, because 5 + C = 10.

C can't be 5 because we know S = 5. So it must be something + a carried 1. Obviously anything below 4 won't work. So it must be 4, C = 4.

That means also that M + A must be more than 9 (in order for there to be a 1 to carry). So M or A must be one of 6,7,8 or 9.

Here's what I make it so far:

+5MALL
+4A41E
10DDEN
Report FlowerMyth September 2, 2015 11:59 PM BST
Sorry M and A must both be higher than 5
Report FlowerMyth September 3, 2015 12:08 AM BST
No ignore that, M and A being 6,7,8 or 9 is wrong...
Report Foinavon September 3, 2015 12:21 AM BST
M+A must equal 9 or 10.
If M+A = 10, A must be 3 or 2 (otherwise the next pair would carry over)
If M+A = 9, A must be 6 or 7 and M be 3 or 2
Report FlowerMyth September 3, 2015 12:25 AM BST
Might be wrong here,

I've got M = 3 and A = 8

answer = 1022EN

What do you think?
Report Foinavon September 3, 2015 12:27 AM BST
If M +A = 11 then I can not be 0 therefore false.
Report Foinavon September 3, 2015 12:29 AM BST
No I'm wrong as there is an extra digit. you could be right.
Report FlowerMyth September 3, 2015 12:32 AM BST
Crazy I don't think I am, can't get  LL+1E to work without carrying over to the third column. May have to abandon this for the night.
Report Foinavon September 3, 2015 12:34 AM BST

Wow, im impressed. I was on similar lines to knowing M + A had to equal more than 10 and as 5 had been used (I thought c=4 but wasn't sure) that would make them 6,7,8 or 9. But totally stuck there after.

Brilliant guys. Overwhlemed with a great effort and response from you both. Ive definitely come to the right place for these puzzles to get solved!
Report blackjackking September 4, 2015 8:35 AM BST
morning guys, another day another fresh puzzle that im stumped with. maybe getting bogged down with going down the wrong lines, hopefully someone can shed some light on it. Here it is :-

When the flying doctor's nemesis took out an Empress they hit the headlines when they encountered the master of a big Norwegian town.

You need to identify (A) the nemesis, (B) the master and (C) an unfortunate person for whom this was the second time in just over two years he had lost his job in the same way. In each case add up the numerical equivalent of his initials (ie A=1,Z=26).
Report Foinavon September 4, 2015 9:38 AM BST
This sounds like a Dr Who theme but I don't watch it so don't know the various stories and names of actors. Perhaps others can pick up on this.
Report blackjackking September 4, 2015 12:32 PM BST

Ok can you help with these... now albeit i think this puzzle is awful and doesnt fit very well at all... Ok cryptic clues of football teams. Not stated but i think they are all football league teams in English leagues. there was 20 and i have 15 right but these 5 i have got wrong and i cant see the wood for the trees.

1 - LUCKY OR UNLUCKY ANIMAL DEPENDING ON YOUR OPINION (I SAID MAGPIES FOR NEWCASTLE AND ITS WRONG) - MAYBE SUNDERLAND(BLACK CATS

2 - CHRISTMAS BIRD (ANOTHER CLUE TO GO WITH THAT IS SCRUMPY) - SWINDON TOWN IS WRONG
3 - COLOUR OF SKY IN LONDON - COVENTRY IS WRONG ...............(COULD IT BE AS SIMPLE AS CHELSEA?)
4 - SWORDS AND KNIVES HAVE THESE - SHEFF UTD IS WRONG (NO IDEA HOW).......DAGENHAM MAYBE?

Here is another.... I need to solve the co-ordinates. All I know is its about dentistry and the Hint is Canine. Im guessing a lot of the UR stands for Upper Right.... and LL is Lower Left but the other letters im lost with to complete the puzzle and work out the relevant numbers.

54 (LLD-URB+LL4) . ((URA x ULA) - (URC x URC) -8)

001 LR4 /2 . ((LRE-URA) x 2) - (ULD-(LL2 x 2))
Report blackjackking September 7, 2015 4:34 PM BST
I its any help to anyone that knows the least about dentistry or is better with tinternet to work it out than me. the first bit of the second half LR4/2 this should equal roughly 20... if it was 22/21/20/19/18 I reckon it would be about right for the puzzle. so if you solve that bit you are probably on the right lines.
