Damn that came around quick! Off very early to the hospital tomorrow. Drs will scope Jr and see if the airways look clear. If we get the green light from that then he'll be admitted for the night and fingers crossed the trach will come out the next day. Really fkin nervous now! 4 years and 10 months of having a trach could be over in a couple of days, not that I've been keeping count or anything
Yeah kenbo he can cough. He coughs out secretions and I suction them up. Can also get some air around the trach and say some simple words like no, dada and mama.

Well I've spent a good five minutes trying to think of a decent trach pun (it rhymes with track, right?) and I've got nothing, so I'll just have to wish him good luck like a civilised person. Good luck.

We (Delightful and I) both send a big load of good wishes for your young 'un and your family. Hope everything goes relatively easily and in the words of the great George Formby; "Turns out nice again".

Haven't seen the build up to this, and I can relate completely to your family at this time.
Can only wish you the very best and hope all goes to plan.
Also give your wife a good slap and tell her to get a grip.
She'll be wanting you to call her "Paytra" next.....

Unfortunately the trach was not removed. Disappointing for sure, but it was never a guarantee it was coming out, so it's normal service resumed for now.

Not the best news HH but I just hope the little guy is coping with it! From what I've experienced, and seen, most kids seem to cope better than adults.
Will look forward to some better news....

He has had the trach almost his entire life AP so he is none the wiser. The little guy has had a dozen surgeries and is a lot tougher than his dad
Cheers guys, yeah hopefully soon.
