I went a few weeks ago. One blot on the landscape that's appeared in recent times is a tent city of homeless migrants where the N1 meets the peripherique. They are camped under the overhead railway on the reservations in the middle of the road. The central tourist areas are fine and kept clean and tidy. Most things seemed very expensive now compared with the UK.
I went, as I usually do, to visit the art galleries. I wouldn't bother for anything else but everyone is different and I'm sure you will find what you seek.

The river cruise dinner is good. The classy one, not the one with the riff-raff. Book tickets close to the Eiffel Tower.

a million times nice than London  as cities go  but doesn't reach it's potential - it also seems to have it's problems these days - dirtier than London too  .

Used to go with my wife, pretty much every year, but I haven't been since 2000..Sad
