About time. Did you know that if you tried to smuggle cigarettes into the UK they will take your lorry and  all the cargo and sell it.
Why are they  not doing the same with the lorry drivers who smuggle people?

^ I think u know whats in your lorry re-cigarettes etc but people sneaking on ?

I'm sorry but what kind of assistance do they want?

Surely they can't want us to turn the migrants away, so what do they want?

What's wrong with their own army?

They'd prefer to blame the British maybe?

Speaking as someone who been driving a wagon for nearly 30 years I find that hilarious.
What about the broken lock or snapped seal or other tampered with security on the trailer.  No sorry lad you would know if they were in the back.

Heard they cut the canvas sides then superglue up.

And your not going to notice this when doing your pre boarding checks.

we do a lot of ferry work, however we don't go on the ferry we just drop the trailer and shunters do the rest. when the box gets to Belfast the shunters over there take it off and another RM driver picks it up.
we find this to be the most cost effective way.
In the light of recent events at Dover and the obvious dangers of driving a wagon on the wrong side of the road maybe it’s about time all continental freight was moved this way.

Has anyone got to the crux of the matter and why UK is so welcoming?

Like the rest of Europe keep telling us we are going over and above what we are legally required. In other words once again the political elite is doing a spot of brown nosing.
