Stevie windwood(think that's his name) sang about an elephants eye in the song "hole in my shoe"
I looked to the sky where an elephants eye was looking at me from a bubble gum tree. I think Stevie was elephants when he wrote it. ![]() ![]() |

The Elephant in the Room :
an expression which alludes to something very large and obvious which is not being talked about. The reasons for not talk about something can be various. If there was an Elephant in your room you would talk about it. Eg : The Queen visits and your Gran poos her pants, this may not be talked about as The Queen may be the culprit. So it becomes the Elephant in the room. |

By:
yes,i understand the saying, but I was wondering how did it start,
was there once a real elephant in some room and nobody spoke about it for some reason. |
|
By:
No....The Elephant was used because it would be hard to miss in your library, study, parlour etc.

got it.Another point I would like to make is the in history there where were not to many famous elephants.
dumbo, and of course Nellie the elephant(song) and we have the elephant patrol in the jungle book. we also had a movie called( the elephant man) and we had Hannibal who marched the elephants over some mountain or through some pass, but apart from these few examples they are very scarce.something tells me there was a race horse called Nellie the elephant but that's about it I think. |

Hannibal Brooks is a 1969 British war comedy film directed by Michael Winner and written by Ian La Frenais and Dick Clement based on a story by Winner and Tom Wright. The film follows a prisoner of war attempt's to escape from Nazi Germany to Switzerland during World War II, accompanied by an Asian elephant. It stars Oliver Reed, Michael J. Pollard and Wolfgang Preiss. The beginning is based on the experiences of the writer Tom Wright who, while a prisoner of war, worked at Munich Zoo to care for their elephant "Lucy". It has also been attributed to the true story of Olga the elephant rescued from Vienna Zoo in 1944. The title is a reference to the Carthaginian military commander Hannibal who led an army of war elephants over the Alps.

Anybody who kills an Elephant should be executed and his whole family jailed for 5 years as a dis-incentive.
