I think anti-gingerism started when the Vikings invaded Northern England, raping and pillaging, then some women had babies with ginger hair and were discriminated against by the majority brunettes.

My son is ginger haired , if you stand out in any way there are always people who will cruelly pick on  you.

My lad is a strapping 6 footer now , so has no hassle , I have no doubt he will have had comments when he was at school , but he keeps his thoughts to himself.

My best mate ,and my son's godfather made several flippant comments on the topic , clearly not seeing the issue.
I told him in no uncertain terms  that our friendship was over if I heard one more .....he apologised and has not.
