What is the Internet anyway? - 1994

It's another outlet for Porn and Gambling if I remember correctly...!!!

I was just getting onto the net at that time by visiting an Internet Cafe. I remember the guy introducing the web for me via Yahoo home page and telling me when I done a search there were literally thousands of websites to choose from.

None of this 14.4k Modem for me when I eventually got on the web at home, I spent £180 on a 28.8k modem. Still took 2 minutes to loa a page

1994 was the first time I used the "internet". I was a CIX customer for many years  - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIX
and used the FTP service to download pictures of Comet Shoemaker–Levy 9. There was no www or html stuff that I remember back then, but it was all moving at a great pace in those times.

Come a long, long way since then.

I was put off it at first because of the length of time it took. Changed days indeed.
