Trilby's flag image is the second iteration of the Confederate Flag - which is generally know as the "Stainless Banner", or by the man who designed it, as the "White man's flag".
"As a people we are fighting to maintain the Heaven-ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race......" April 23rd 1863 William T Thompson Editor Daily Morning News. In addition to editing the Daily Morning News, Thompson designed this version of the flag. |

I can only begin to imagine how good those gigs must have been, Facts.
You're a fortunate son to have experienced them. Led Zep = greatest band of all time, imho. ... apart from Lynyrd Skynyrd ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGKIX2_ViF8 G'nite y'all ![]() |

Saw Jimmy Page walking near his house by chance, Melbury Road, Kensington
didn't know he lived there when I saw him, Night 22, remember, close those windows. |

Trilby (and Facts will confirm) Bath was pretty **** as it rained nearly all the time, the bands were 2/3 hours late or had sound problems, or often both. Zeppelin were great though, they turned all the lights out for what seemed like minutes, and then someone said "Led Zeppelin" and all the lights came on as Whole Lotta Love started. I believe it was about 1.15am but cannot be sure.
Facts we should reminisce. We might have queued together on Castle Cary station - Didnt pick up a brand-new Levi needle-cord blouson jacket did you? cos I'd like it back . |

Saw them at Knebworth. Can't remember anything.
Years later met a girl who liked a song of theirs called Thank You, so spent good money on a Led Zep songbook to learn it on the guitar. It worked too, though only once, and I can't remember anything about that either. I wish I wasn't 53. ![]() |

Are you sure about your age screaming?

Knebworth was a milestone, because it was the last ridiculous gig involving Boring Old Farts I ever attended. If I wasn't 18 then and it wasn't 1979, then Christ knows what's happened since or how old I am.

This is a new release, just out the other day - an alternate version of When the Levee Breaks recorded before they had the idea of sticking Bonham at the bottom of a staircase.

Then there's this, an unfinished song called La La, should have been on Led Zep 2 and it would have been about a thousand times than the god awful Livin Lovin Maid, in fact better than most of the songs on there, pity they didn't complete this one

Behaved like pigs on their American tours, everything around them was disgusting, violent and degenerate.

Weather was awful - and sound systems left a lot to be desired. But Led Zep were worth waiting for. Sorry about your jacket, didn't travel by train. Came down in a 1920 /30s rover ? With black gangster type car with big headlights and running boards ! My mate drove and our pal was in the passenger seat, I was in the back with my girlfriend( soon to be my wife ) ! I was 19, she was 18. Long hair, tight green cardigan, needle cord trousers( green) and boots dyed silver. And that was me ! Happy, happy days.slept in the car overnight at the festival. Bought a copy of the Festival poster last year. It was great to remember the line up. Acts on Day 1 ( Sat 27th June) included, Canned Heat,Pink Floyd,Johnny Winter and Fairport Convention. On Day 2 ( Sun 28th) amongst others were Jefferson Airplane, frank Zappa,Moody Blues, Byrds,Santana ,Country Joe ( give us an F ,give us a U ..... ) and headlining - Led Zeppelin. Continuity by John Peel and Mike Raven. What a line up !! Compare that to the crap you get nowadays.A ticket for the 2 days ( bought in advance was 50 shillings ) ! |
