Went in for a simple puncture and they told me I needed a whole new tyre, balancing, the works. Wanted to charge me £60. I didn't have £60 so the fckers still wouldn't fix my puncture and I had to drive with the flat for 2 miles to another garage. Luckily no major damage was done and the guy fixed it for £3. He told me there was still a few good miles in the tyre.
I'd never use Kwik Fit again.

Is this what chitchat has become? Is this the inevitable end of it all?
Let's all just post any old mindless sh1t we got on facebook via the new forum. Don't even think about it. Don't even add a comment. Just post it ffs. Sums up everything that is depressing.

A few years ago they were the only place open on a Sunday and I reluctantly went in. They quoted me £400 for 4 new tyres. I laughed. Within a minute and a couple of presses to the computer keyboard it was £200.
My wife got a puncture done there, the lad in a hushed voice said 'Just give me a tenner'. She said she needed a receipt. He put the job through the till….. £7.50.
Bandits!

No one should ever use KwikFit. Just google up some KwikFit feedback and you'll find dozens of forums & comments from irate customers and ex-KwikFit employees. They are paid a pittance with all bonus pay based on up-selling whatever additional they can regardless of whether it's required. They prey on drivers' ignorance and apprehension. Targets are aggressively applied to all.
Last time I went for a service, they said I needed £2k of repairs, work, parts etc just to get through the MOT. told them to do one after seeing some horror stories on google. Local independent garage did all that was needed for £250 and confirmed that they'd seen hundreds of examples of KwikFit lying and ripping off customers who don't know better. Also said that they were committed to being honest about required work/parts since independents are so reliant on referrals & repeat business.
KwikFit deserve to go out of business. Thieving robbing dishonest b@stards imo.

Of course, we have to believe that you are not implying that this has any connection with Messrs "Kwik Fit"!
That aside, at first glance, we are seeing a car that has fallen of a ramp, and sustained serious damage.
Not particularly difficult examination, shows that the car has been involved in a very serious smash, with the engine and bodywork completely missing, and plus damage to the rear, and with none of the damaged items on the floor!
The question is how and why did it get there or, is it in fact not there at all?
As Lt. Columbo would have said.... "You know, something is bothering me here"!
If I just stated the obvious, I will stay in after school.....

With regards to selling unnecessary "add ons" they're all at it.
My "Honda Type R GT" was in for it's second annual service, and with the mileage just over 6k.
They called to say it was ready but needed new wipers at £25.00 each!
New wipers at 6k miles!!!! I told them I would sort them, but I had it in mind that they could pull a pair of ruined ones from the bin, and put them on before I got there.
Being cynical, and street wise, I really believe they would do that if they had some!

I got quoted £400 per tyre by them, after some generous individual slshed my rear tyres in Lahndan. I asked if he was for real. He said that it was the best that he could do. I reminded him that we were in 2013 and that I could just look online to see if it was a fair price. The quote then dropped to £300 each, but he was doing me a favour.
Online was £220 per tyre, so I told him I'd just book into a hotel for the night and get someone else to sort it. He then started slapping keys on his keyboard at random (I could see that he was doing nowt as his computer was reflected in a mirror) and said he'd do them both for £500. I agreed.
They are utter thieves. Amazing that they can get away with something like overcharging for tyres when people have phones that they can check the price on so easily.
