I haven't read the story but is this this person who had a phobia and hadn't been for weeks?

It's common for older people to die on the bog. I'm told this is due to straining to get the said log out, and it can cause the main artery that runs through the stomach area to expand and rupture. Don't know any more detail.
I read that the reason it's common for older people, as well as younger, to die on the bog, is that when you are approaching a heart attack, you feel the need to go for a dump.

Definite signs of constipation include teeth marks in the toilet roll holder.
It wasn't straining, she hadn't went for something completely insane like 2 months, by choice, and was so backed up and her bowel grown so large the mass put strain on her upper organs and she had a heart attack

not sure of the technicalities of this device but judging by the nice lady in the demo photo, it isn't even necessary to remove one's pants during the evacuation process.
