I have the same magenta Cosmos in my garden, exceptionally beautiful and keeps throwing out new blooms. You must be pleased with it too.

I had a hummingbird hawk-moth in my garden this afternoon hovering around the buddleia with his long tongue out after the nectar.
Nothing invigorates a day like the feeling of sunlight on your face and a hummingbird hawk-moth in your shrubbery.

Lovely sunny day yesterday egner. I already mentioned the quantum robin and was also swamped with bees of all types feeding on the flowers of nasturtiums, pot marigolds and globe artichokes. The good thing when they are feeding is they are not inclined to sting so can approach quite closely. Unfortunately didn't take my camera with me but will try and remember next time. There are several beekeepers on our site so we are assured that our fruit and vegetables will always be pollinated.

I'll be seeing a lot of him from now on as he will be fattening up for winter. During the winter months when I occasionally sit by my shed to have a cup of tea and a biscuit, a robin almost always turns up to cadge a few crumbs. At such times I like to kick over some leaf litter as their beady eyes always spot tiny insects scurrying for cover. There's a fine line between death and survival for them in winter and every little helps.
