Such a brilliant tennis match.

Final set on now.

I watched some of it yesterday on BBC2. A glimpse of what Wimbledon could be like if they let more ordinary people in!

Hi Tommy.

I was hoping you were going to tell us that it was a seniors' match - I do like them. Whilst they may lose their pace over time, their skill is never diminished.

I remember that match very well Tommy, I was just praying Goran would win. I had no financial interest in the match so it didn't matter really but you would have to have a heart of stone not to be moved when he eventually won.

Same here TT. I'd set the video for the match, and went home from work to see it, having miraculously avoided the score all day.

During the very late stages of the match (possibly when Goran was serving for it) I still recall Pat Cash remarking on commentary that events were becoming 'very stressful'.

The only other moment of comparable drama was surely that time when a well-known Count was about to win a heart-stopping semi-final clash with some unemployable former window-cleaner, and looked like doing a 9 darter to seal it. Lest anyone forget, just as he was about to throw that last Double Twelve to checkout, Pippa M allegedly broke wind violently, completely distracting the Great Man in the process, and letting his opponent back into the match.

Thankfully later sanity prevailed and Pippa was dragged screaming into the car park for a richly-deserved shoeing.

I can remember listening to this match on the wireless Tommy, I might be wrong but was it delayed until the Monday? I remember listening to  it in my bed, while my brother was in the next room watching it on tv, thumping on the wall when Pat lost a point.
