This isn't the right place to ask this question, you'd be better going to a forum that specialises in virus removal.

I can't remember what forum I used but there are very helpful guys that will walk you step by step in removing anything that you don't need. Try this forum, seems pretty busy:

The forum process will take days if not weeks, depending on how quick you and the person communicating with you interact. If you've nothing important it would be quicker to do a factory reset, just do a google and print out the steps you need - make sure you've another method to get on the internet as sometimes drivers are not always installed when you need them.

I think it's a wind up.

Wasn't it him who posted last week, something about a policeman monitoring his emails?

Two things.

1) Web Safe is a legitimate product on Virgin to stop your 12-year-old grandson surfing porn.

2) There is a scam which might use the name.

3) There may be other malware (ok, that is more than two things).

It is not actually clear what problem the OP has.

He went about it cryptically last week so he got abuse. Today he asked a sensible question and I responded to him in a more civilised way.

spelling, it is not a windup and I am offended that you are so suspicious of my motives,
if you don't agree with me then it is not my fault as I have likes and
dislikes just the same as anyone else.

are you with virgin media ?
Report bazzar June 27, 2015 2:55 PM BST
I am 77 and no one else uses my computer so no need of a NANNY.
It annoys me greatly that people believe they ha right to
interfere on someone else's computer I am sure that some of you
would feel annoyed also.

@bazaar -- Web Safe exists because the government said ISPs must offer these services to protect children. It's the law and there's not another election due till 2020 so it is not going away.

That said, you (or rather the account holder) can opt out of Web Safe. If you opt out, then it will not get in your way. It sounds like you have not yet done so (or you have done so but have been accidentally opted in again).

If you do not want help but just want to rant about the unfairness of life, please say so. Web Safe exists but *you* get to choose whether you use it.

(The water is slightly muddied by various scams.)

I get your point Ramruma and I will follow your advice by not using web safe,
I did not mean to rant but I suppose I might appear to have done so.
My real objection is that some people believe they have a right to interfere in
other peoples affairs.

unless you have something to hide why would it bother you?
