The country on the right generally uses coal and gas for its heating and power, and doesn't much care for renewable energy, or so I'm told.
The country on the left generally burns wood.
Alas, with the biomass or RHI subsidies the UK could end up like the one on the left.

I get the scary impression you think the one on the left is the "better" country?
But the one on the right has more trees which capture CO, recycle CO2 into 02, and better biodiversity?

Wood is a renewable energy source don't you know as when you burn it you only return to the atmosphere the CO2 that was taken out in the first place.
The UK is subsidising this to the tune of 10.98p per kwH. You can burn wood whether you need the heating on or not and still turn a profit.
