Have you noticed that in the warm weather, they sit in the sun, very still, staring, with their wings spread out and their beaks open at about a thirty degree angle?

It's called anting and a lot of birds do it, but yes they more than most.

I throw grapes on the lawn for blackbirds ...... mainly because pigeons and the stomachs on legs that are wood pigeons won't go near fruit .....all the disgusting things they do eat , but get that healthy stuff away from me !
