Took my 9 year old son to see it yesterday and i have to say it is rather impressive and edge of your seat entertainment.

Highly recommend it,  Chris Pratt is very good in it as a Harrison Ford type.

And the new Dinosaur is magnificent.

9/10

My wife dragged me along to watch it last weekend. It was rubbish.
Report Angel Gabrial June 24, 2015 3:01 PM BST
Did you watch it i 3D paddy, you need the extra dimension to feel yourself there.

Anyway it was far from rubbish.
Report paddletoe June 24, 2015 3:02 PM BST
The best part was the trailer before it started about the new matt dammon film. It looked like it could be good.

The fight with the TRex and the hybrid spliced beast was very impressive.
The surviving Rapture and sea beast provided excellent team work to secure 3 points for victory.

I fell asleep during the trailer, i got the nudge when the main film started to roll.

No Gabrial. I wanted to watch it on 3D but my wife said it hurts her eyes and gives her a migraine. Which reminds me I think I am paying for 3D on my sky package and only thing I have ever put the glasses on to watch has been the previews of the football on it. Seems very good especially when they are taking a corner and you get a close up contrast with the fans in the same scene.

I thought Sky had now closed their 3D channel

Did you notice this paddy, i did and wondered how the got away with it.

In Jurassic World, there's a scene in which the protagonists learn that a group of dinosaurs, called the Pachycephalosaurus, have escaped. For shorthand, they call the group of dinos "Pakis," which American audiences may not realize is an offensive slur in the U.K. — referring to people from Pakistan.

My wife is very clever in things related to animals and sci fi. I was asking her all sorts of stuff about the film and related things on the way home. She could tell you the name of every animal that ever existed and every species of birds and everything about them. I would risk everything on her knowing any animal related question on the 500,000 question on who wants to be a millionaire.

There were quite a few things I asked my wife about that did not make sense to me but I missed out on that reference to be honest.

What is Taxi talking about?

One constant thing I keep asking my wife is the idea that its hard to get my head around the sheer time ago Dinasaurs existed. I said they might not be extinct at all and some of them are on the politics forum.
Report paddletoe June 24, 2015 3:20 PM BST
Like I said she is very clever. Wonderful human being too.
Report Angel Gabrial June 24, 2015 3:22 PM BST
The Drippenplopalotofpuss is certainly not extinct on the politics forum

She is very beautiful physically and in personality. She has does a lot of charity work when she is not saving lives.

Anyway, I need to go now. I don't like talking about personal stuff. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon Gabrial.
Report Angel Gabrial June 24, 2015 3:46 PM BST
She sounds lovely paddy, very much like my own who is in full bloom at the moment.

By the way it was Monday when i went to see this movie, not yesterday as first reported. Must be factually correct as one gets accused so easily on these forums.

Now you know.

Cheers Taxi

Neither should Honky.

Bur Crippen thinks that is a racist slur even if to tell the historical form of the word which had more to do with men using prostitutes and honking their horn.

AG noway uve given this 9/10 surely, the storyline/plot was flat out terrible and acting was poor aswell
Report akabula June 24, 2015 4:29 PM BST
Years ago when my son was 15 we lived near to a small grocers which was run by an Asian couple.
Sometimes their daughter, who my son fancied, worked in the shop.
He always referred to it as the P****s. Nothing racist in it. No different to when I referred to the local Chinese takeaway as the C*****s.

Saw it today. Quite enjoyed it but nowhere near as good as the original.

7/10 for me.

yeh this is my thought aswell

Report Angel Gabrial June 24, 2015 4:43 PM BST
Well the original is hard to beat so i would give that 9.5/10

The technical wizardry in JW makes you lose yourself even though it is more cheesy storyline.

Too be fair glimpsing across at my sons enjoyment filled face has perhaps added 2 points to the film score, it is much better than the last one.

Perhaps the British should get involved in the script writing to polish these films off because the cheese is all American.

hey aslong as your son love it thats the main thing, im glad you both had a good time

To be fair to Gabrial if you do something with your son/daughter and they enjoy it then it should make you happy so I see where he is coming from. I can remember the time and place of almost every film or sporting event I watched with my daddy and every goal I watched him score when I followed him around like a magnet. Association with things and events is happiness in itself. When I tell one of these stories to my wife she jokes ah let me guess you were aged 11 and you were watching the sundance kid, it was a Wednesday and you chips and sausages for your dinner. She just gives up on me now.

But, but but, as a grown man Gabrial you almost deserve another ban for rating that piece of rubbish anymore than a 3 as a stand alone film. You could tell exactly everything that was going to happen ten minutes before it did. The male was no Indiana jones and it was worse than the 5th rocky movie. The Matt Dammon trailer shown before this film looked a deadly plot for a film. Bit like the Capricorn One movie in the little bit it give away with Matt Damon having to survive in space for 4 years with supplies intended to last a month or something like that.
Report Angel Gabrial June 24, 2015 8:09 PM BST
The technical wizardry was at an all time best paddy, the plot is always going to be corny and obvious or else my boy would have a frown on his face, struggle to keep up.
Chris Pratt would be great in Indiana Jones, so i disagree.
My boy had an operation last week so he needed cheering up. Also i noticed that the adults in the cinema were not talking at all through the movie, another great sign.
Report paddletoe June 24, 2015 8:53 PM BST
Meant more it was not as a good as Indiana jones.
Appreciate your point in terms of storyline for a film which a young and older viewer can watch together. My wife said she liked it as its her kind of film. I personally found it not very good. I kept asking her about Dinosaur stuff never covered in the film which I would have been more interested in. But personal taste and all that. Amazing though when you think of how long ago Dinosaurs were walking the earth in terms of the history and longevity of the human race. Mind boggling stuff.
And I am not buying some of those Dinosaurs, especially the big ones could outrun a person. Reckon you could wrong foot them and by the times they turned around you would be offski. Suppose they would have other instincts in their genes though such as smell and the likes.
Better twist might have involved humans being transported to their time and place and meeting up at the same time in as factual way which covered how modern man with all their knowledge of things v Dinosaurs instinctive attributes.
Report Angel Gabrial June 24, 2015 9:09 PM BST
That would be a cracking story line Paddy, and regarding the period of time dinosaurs were roaming the earth 231.4 million years. Humans 200,000 years.

Were was GOD during the dinosaur days? what was he doing? God my arse!Shocked

Good clip to find Spelling re this topic. I find Eddie very funny at times especially in some of his skits about God. Brought up for a period in n.ireland when he was very young. Best his family moved so he could become happier and easier to the person he is. Seems a great human being...despite being  too loyal to modern labour. On the other scale of comedy I used to really dislike Jim Davidson. Still don't think he is funny but saw him a wee bit on big brother and he showed a different side to him.
Came across a comedian called Milton Burns recently. He is a brilliant one liner comedian. Some of his stuff on youtube.
Report spellingandgrammarchecker June 25, 2015 1:08 PM BST
I've got all of Eddie Izzard's shows on DVD.

When people who are not fans look at the later ones, they wonder why people laugh at the voice of James Mason being god before he has said anything funny. JM was the voice of god in the early DVDs, and Eddie stuck with it.

An extremely intelligent man is Eddie, my favourite parts are older ones like 'Caesar and Hannibal'. Before James Mason became 'god' he was 'Caesar'.

Of the more recent ones, the 'Death Star Canteen' is my favourite.

I saw Jim at 'Blazers' in Windsor in the early 1980s,

I never knew he could play a piano up until then.
Report Angel Gabrial June 25, 2015 4:10 PM BST
`Chalky` is the pianist. Jim is just a passenger.
