There used to be a bloke like that in Plaistow when I was a youth. His name was Douglas, and he seemed to spend all day walking.
He wore industrial boots, a grey suit, with a blue shirt.
I think his route was circular as he would be seen passing us about once every hour if we were over the local park.
Not all the ticket, but harmless.

In this area I regularly saw and elderly woman walking at a fair speed.
She always had two long walking canes and a handful of plastic bags.
I've seen her lots of times with several miles between.
Found out from a client, that she was an ex school teacher, and all she did was to walk miles, every day, picking up litter!

There used to be a guy that ran around Bristol all day.
He looked a bit down and out and looked like he would spend his evenings drinking and daytime running in a fairly fast but rhythmical speed.
I haven't seen him for a while but I dont get out much!

Sorry, Aunty. I didn't open this thread, as I assumed it was about 'L'homme qui marche', the bronze sculpture by the 19th century French sculptor, Rodin, whom I've no real interest in.
