We have a Harrison Murray Estate Agents rep here at the moment, conducting an evaluation.
I have no idea if other agents have the same questions on their forms.
The usual questions concerning a property, is it liable to flooding, subsidence etc. have you made any insurance claims for these, blah blah blah...
The penultimate question is - Have there been any known tragic death(s) at the property?
That would depend how you define tragic, would it not?
A few of Mrs SAGC's beloved pets are buried in the garden.
She thinks their deaths were tragic.
If you think that was stupid, or indeed relevant, read on.
The final question is without doubt the most stupid question I've EVER seen.
'Has there been any paranormal activity at the property?'
WTF!!
Could the house sell for more if it was haunted?

Devalued, the "paranormal" inhabitants should be viewed as rent free eternal sitting tenants.

The survey at the bottom of the page has over 22,000 results ans 65% said they wouldn't buy a house sadi to be haunted.

A bloke from the company that runs the council houses came around to my 88 year old dad's house a couple of years ago to do the due diligence survey to check who was actually living in their properties.
Myself and my brother were there visiting and obviously introduced ourselves to the chap and helped dad through the questions as he was a bit non-plussed.
At the end of the survey the bloke went through the age, race and nationality section culminating in asking, with a straight face, whether dad regarded himself as "heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual or transgender".... This seemed a bit superfluous with me and my brother standing there.
I can't describe the look on my poor old dad's face after the words had percolated through his mind and he worked out what he was being asked!

I'm maybe not correctly estimating the level of honesty of people who are involved in such things, so no offence to Oberst Bin Killenvolks, but I'd guess even if they were, they might not tick the "yes" box
I'd like to know if a house was haunted, I know someone who says their house is haunted and found out later the previous owner was into wierd paranormal stuff.

I believe if a property has had an incident, such as a murder or suicide like a hanging in it then it has to be disclosed to any potential purchaser.

He was asked if:
a) he was homosexual.

c) he took illegal drugs.
He said 'no' to all three.
They said they couldn't help him.

There is a legal reason for that question. It goes something like: If you are committing an offense like building a bomb, that is an offence and the local police will arrest you. The FBI have no juristiction. BUT because you lied on that form, which IS a federal offence, the FBI can get involved.

That question does confuse me. Are estate agents now genuinely taking into account the possibility of a ghost in a property?
Mind you, as been discussed on here before, I grew up in a very badly haunted house and I when I have looked at a house, I have always probed into that sort of thing with the owners as I know it happens.
