They must think everybody in the country is stupid.Hopefully it is the final nail in the coffin for a rancid firm like Camelot.

Just read it, amazing bit of spin, greed has no limits.

If people wanted the new game theyd just play euromillions

Who plays to win another ticket Crazy
Report Ibrahima Sonko • June 16, 2015 5:45 PM BST
The people who have the same numbers for the last 20 years are going to feel a bit aggrieved imo.
Report akabula • June 16, 2015 6:02 PM BST
Will chase people away.
Report donny osmond • June 16, 2015 6:02 PM BST
they should change the format each year to protect those that play the same numbers
and become addicted
Report naydam • June 16, 2015 6:06 PM BST
As I see it, the only figure of any concern regarding chances of 'winning' is the percentage reduction from the pot. If it increases you 'win' less.
Report naydam • June 16, 2015 6:08 PM BST
By 'winning' I mean your overall chance of making a profit.
Report akabula • June 16, 2015 6:13 PM BST
They of course are including the fee ticket as winning. Poor marketing imo and time for a new operator.
I think if they want to change the format they should be forced to change the numbers.
ie should now be 51 to 109 which would allow people to change their numbers without worrying about previous numbers used.
Report Ibrahima Sonko • June 16, 2015 6:13 PM BST
Its virtually deception claiming the odds on winning £1m are now 10m/1 just because of raffle, the new odds on win are 45m/1, getting a lucky dip isnt winning at all.

I dont do the lottery but hope this ends camelot.
Report Ibrahima Sonko • October 9, 2015 8:23 PM BST
Tomorrow is the first draw with the extra numbers, see they have added a 25 millionaire draw to it, that should paper over small sales for a week.
Report PatraTheCat • October 9, 2015 10:32 PM BST
It's a tax on the (mathematically) stupid, so it only needs to fool stupid people.
Report blackestnight • October 9, 2015 10:41 PM BST
Although, if you permed all the new numbers you have a better chance of winning. All the old school, every draw players wont change theirs.
Report kincsem • October 10, 2015 1:57 AM BST
In Ireland they upped the price to €4 and increased the balls.
We believed them when they said it was better value.
Take your machine and ..... you know the rest. Laugh

I keep banging on about this but they need to stop the rollover.

When people enter this lottery they are playing to win a share of the prize.

To take away that prize must surely be wrong.

If the jackpot is not won, the money should "Roll Down" to the other prize levels.
That would make the prize for 5+1 and 5 and 4 more appealing, and rewarding, than it is now I think.

100% agree. And having bigger rollover jackpots which could peak at 50 million, crazy, a system to create 50 individual millionaires would be better. A million pound is more than enough to satisfy the dreams of any average person.

Just totally agree if the jackpot is not won any week the money should "roll down" to other prize levels.

The odds of winning the big one are currently one in 14 million.
With 59 balls the odds will be one in 45 million.

This was given to me by a young lad (early twenties) who won £266,000 using the systems.

You need to use the biggest affordable plan (common sense I think) but it's great for syndicates.

I ran it using the £20.00 plan, with four players chucking in £5.00 a week. Well they should have chucked in a fiver,
but I got sick of chasing for it so pulled the plug.

We had seven wins of four numbers and countless wins of three numbers.

Unfortunately it is now redundant until someone amends it for 59 numbers. v

Camelot are banking on the fact that people are so dumb and hooked, they won't know the difference.

Rather like having "smoking kills" on cigarette packets.

I was a much better gambler then.

Lottery site is still down at 9am -- presumably the Camelot IT Test And QA department missed that one program that runs overnight and absolutely *knows* there are only 49 numbers.

Last night if you matched 5 numbers you won £2040

That's landing a 144,415/1 shot

If you landed 7.5million/1 shot and got 5+bonus ball yout won £120k

They've clearly gone the big jackpot route like euromillions but it will take ages before it gets to £80million+

What fooking idiot dreamt this one up ...49 to 59 numbers ?
Odds of winning before approx 14 milion to one.
Odds now with 59 numbers ...45 million (?) to one and (quote) a better chance of winning ?
Errrr am I missing something ?

Its called taking the piss out of your customers, hopefully it will go horribly wrong. Maybe another ratners.
Report scandanavian_haven • October 12, 2015 12:37 AM BST
I got 5 numbers a few months ago as some may remember, once I got over the disappointment of missing out on the big one I was grateful for winning a 12 hundred quid, even in the odds are actually 55,000/1, now I'm really not even going to bother, was fun when it was a pound to play, but now doubled and with much greater odds? with the 1 extra millionaire carrot being dangled as if that's gonner help, they'd be better off making 100 people 10k winners rather than 1 person a millionaire.

I still think abut number 43, the number I didn't getGrin
And number 47, the number I wrongly choseSad
Report Ramruma • October 12, 2015 3:07 AM BST
Ticket sales were disappointing but I dare say Camelot will be banking on higher sales when the inevitable rollovers kick in. I'm not convinced -- surely those people chasing the headline numbers without regard to the odds will still prefer the Euromillions?

It was bad enough when they put the price up from £1 to £2, but now with odds of 45 million to 1, the odds for you being a winner are effectively zero.
Report Zazu • October 12, 2015 4:24 PM BST
People will still buy tickets because of the high jackpot amounts.
Report TommyBarnes • October 12, 2015 4:57 PM BST
True Zazu except the lotto rollover is capped at 50m, the lotto now looks too much like Euromillions, were as for £1 and with 49 numbers originally it fitted in the middle of Thunderball and said Euro. A mate of mine who is 48 has now switched from his 6/7 lottery perm to a Thunderball ticket covering all 14 thunder alls for the same price £14. He said £565,000 is enough for him to retire. It was his first week of doing this and he got 3 numbers for a return of £150.  As he does it Saturday only that will pay for his entries for the rest of the year
Report Zazu • October 15, 2015 12:57 AM BST
Match 6    £0 (jackpot was £7.7million)
Match 5+B £29,645
Match 5    £931
Match 4    £91
Match 3    £25

10 extra numbers and the prizes are no better than before Crazy

I lived in France just outside Paris in the 1990's and they ran a lottery on a Wednesday  and Saturday it was half price on Wednesday
and it also contained a 1 million franc win if your ticket number matched the ticket number drawn so basically Camelot have just copied
the French lottery except they still as far as I know have 49 numbers...So its nothing new or innovative that camelot are doing....
