The lawyer of a woman found guilty of causing the death of a jogger by driving dangerously pleaded with the judge to spare his client prison because she is ‘too overweight’.
Linda Jenns, 49, hit and killed 45-year-old Paul Stinton after running a red light in Ashford, Kent, in January last year.
But Jenns’ lawyer pleaded with the judge at Canterbury Crown Court to spare his 30st client jail, saying that she is ‘grossly overweight’ and would find a prison sentence ‘extraordinarily difficult’.
‘As it is she is grossly overweight, morbidly obese and since the incident has put on even more weight,’ Ian Bridge told Judge Heather Norton.
Judge Norton adjourned sentence for two weeks pending medical reports, but warned Jenns that a jail sentence was ‘almost certain’.

Whatever happened to just admitting your guilt and accepting your punishment.? Just stick her in solitary on bread and water and she'll come out more thoughtful, repentant and slimmer.
if she does go to the nick I'm guessing she won't be allowed the top bunk.

She should not have been driving.
Obesity is classed as disability.
So it should have to be declared to the licencing authorities and acted on accordingly by them.
If they don't already do that they need to look at it.

This is going to encourage fat people to commit more crime.
If a woman bank robber is 25 stone then it would be in her best interest to put on a few more stones.
all very funny ,but this fat fckr killed someone that was keeping fit and healthy ,sentence should be doubled

There's a lot of tw*ts around isn't there full of it. I caught a bit of some tv program today with two guys on a bus, a passing vans wing mirror clipped it, minimal damage and forgetable, except two guys both came up with those "no win no fee" compensation claims for physical harm. They had internal CCTV of the incident on the bus, one was a classic wide boy chav, he's sitting there, sees something happen, he stands up, looks, then sits and phones someone, as they bus owner said, probably a compensation lawyer

Compensation lawyers are scum aren't they, I'm sure we all get those calls and messages even about claims we've never made and so on. It's a sad society where they thrive.

Aye, she looks like a fit, chunky lass. The other ones' chunks are hidden beneath a thick layer of tallow.
I think she would have problems playing an accordion.
