Baltic isn't too bad in Summer tbf

should be 20c in south of england and   12c in northern Scotland for early June,Baltic areas would expect around 18 by now Wink

this weather isn't unusual ,june 2nd wouldn't come anywhere within the warmest 3 month period anyway

brewers , if you look at the weather reports official on that newspaper  for june 2 you will see that most places were around 10 - 14c ,still cold for june but not cold enough for snow .

my guess here is it's sensationsal news story time - maybe cold air up higher causing some sort of ice storm or sleet which looked a lot like snow -may have even been snow for a short time , the ground might just have been cold enough to allow the white stuff to lay for an hour in certain parts ie buxton'highlands, snowdonia etc .

it probably warmed up within a couple of hours .

it certainly wouldn't have been a very cold, snowy day like you might get in mid winter .

interesting all the same . wish i could have seen it .
Report Coachbuster June 3, 2015 1:18 PM BST
1975 was a hot summer btw,not sure why some numpty posted about 1976 ,that was a whole YEAR away Laugh
Report Coachbuster June 3, 2015 1:23 PM BST
i'll hazard a guess and say Buxton was around 6c, Derby and Stoke 8  and London  around 11 or 12 with maybe a dip in the day for an hour or two ,snow can lay at 6c  although it's extremely rare
Report Coachbuster June 3, 2015 1:26 PM BST

the mills didn't spring up there for the hell of it  Wink

Report Coachbuster June 8, 2015 9:32 PM BST
make sure when the sun is out Dragon lay out for a good 10 minutes WITHOUT sunblock between 11-3  and only in the  3  months either side of late June  ,enough so you don't burn or turn red

vitamin D deficiency is becoming a real health problem ,not only where you are but even in sunny places such as Spain,USA and NZ - too much fear of skin cancer and indoor lifestyle .

worth reading about Cool
