I believe the same exit poll was available to all broadcasters.
Report TheBetterBettor May 8, 2015 3:02 PM BST
I don't understand why the exit poll was completely at odds with all the other pre-voting polls.

It wasn't so bad as in 92...Back then even the exit polls got it wrong.

Nothing to do with Sky at all
Report alun2005 May 8, 2015 3:06 PM BST
The pollsters methods would be interesting to know. The Exit Polls were spot on.

I think a lot of the daily polls from the last few weeks may well have been disproportionately consulting people who live their lives on Social Media, and not enough who live in the real world.

If it was spot on Cameron would be struggling to form a government.
Report blackbarn May 8, 2015 3:09 PM BST
Absolutely agree, but the credit goes to Ipsos/Mori (who conducted the poll for Sky, the BBC and ITV).
Report blackbarn May 8, 2015 3:11 PM BST
Tobermory - They predicted the share of the vote almost exactly, predicted "Scotland" and had the Tories easily winning most seats with close to or at an overall majority.  Not bad based on only a 20k voter sample.
Report giggitygiggity May 8, 2015 3:13 PM BST
Exit polls well out..only predicted 316 Tory seats..had Balls and Mandelson claiming legitimacy for MillibandLaugh

The online and telephone polls will miss the older voters and voters that are busy working or cant be bothered to waste their time participating, this group must be more conservative voters.
Report tobermory May 8, 2015 3:20 PM BST
22k is huge sample size.I agree the poll was good but never 'spot on' as number of seats the crucial thing.
Report Slicer May 8, 2015 3:27 PM BST
The polls were s k e w e d., labour was s c r e w e d
Report tictacman1 May 8, 2015 3:53 PM BST
At least 182 women - almost a third of all MPs - will take up seats in Parliament in what is an historic outcome.
Report Zazu May 8, 2015 4:01 PM BST
Yougovs poll yesterday had tories winning 280ish seats and the guy was adamant it was more accurate than the exit poll

The pre election polls were samples of 1200 and less. Conplete waste of time
Report blackbarn May 8, 2015 4:14 PM BST
Interesting tictac.   I think I heard last night that the young lady student SNP MP is the youngest MP since the 1660's.  Hope that's right, I was nodding off by then.
Report TheBetterBettor May 8, 2015 4:30 PM BST
Survation said it conducted a telephone poll on Wednesday evening which showed the Tories on 37% and Labour on 31% but "chickened out" of publishing it as it appeared so out of line with other surveys.

Its chief executive Damian Lyons said he would "always regret" the decision but would not be carrying out an internal review of his methodology.

Blackbarn have you spoken to any 20 year olds lately?
Report blackbarn May 8, 2015 6:20 PM BST
Zazu - Yes!   and your point is?   For the avoidance of doubt my comment was merely trivia driven; I know nothing of her qualities or competence. You?
