The last TV debate when he looked out of his depth, denied that Labour had overspent in the last government, and used all those phony techniques like thumb pointing, "what's your name" and other coached gestures.

Difficult really when you were never at any time in a position to win, having Dumb & Dumber as number one & two was always political suicide.

And there's Russell Brand and Eddie Izard. I've no problem with Izard dressing like that but did Ed really think that walking round with a bloke in a dress and lipstick was a vote winner?

Apart from the above mistakes,Milliband just didn't "look the part" of prime minister.

i think they lost it on europe and miliband's refusal to hold a referendum.

my guess is that at least 75% of the lib dem defection was shared between the greens and labour, but labour's advantage was wiped out by lab to UKIP.

i also have a suspicion that it accounts for the polls: i believe that there are large number of people who would not admit voting for UKIP.

Anyone left 'undecided' towards the end of the campaign couldn't have voted for Miliband after :

(a) "We didn't overspend"

(b) The endorsement of the toxic Brand

Decent parents voted elsewhere after the revelations of the disgusting Labour and police cover up at Rotherham, which was reported in 2003 and 2006, but ignored.

As s working class east Londoner I'm truly disgusted by what the original working class party did to win votes in Rotherham.

And I'm told the Labour candidate was 1/5 to be re-elected.

If he was, the place must be packed with paedophiles and ignorant c*nts. 

Who else would vote Labour back in?

Sadly, Labour's hardcore voting constituency now exactly appears to be those Peace-Loving Racist types in towns where monstrous acts were carried out against sexually-underaged white girls, and where denial and cover-up was the preferred response from the authorities and the liberal media.

They would have been looking at 100-150 seats, maybe less, without that support.

Alun may have a point. here is a comment on the result for Birmingham Hall Green where the majority for the labour MP went from 3,799 in 2010 to 22,688 on the collapse of the vote for Respect-alliance party. Respect had 25% of the vote in 2010.

I'll read that in the morning.

The BBC reported earlier in the week that figures for Birmingham could surpass Rotherham.

the final nail in the coffin for me was his meeting that Brand fellow and putting on a common accent....you just couldn't  dumb it  down from that embarrassing episode.
