Alan Johnson to bring some stability and likeability to the party before handing it over to someone who had nothing to do with that lot from 97-2010. Don't know who though.
Report mafeking May 8, 2015 3:14 AM BST
can't be david. not an mp

burnham has to be favourite surely. cooper not likeable in the slightest and being married to balls won't help
Report ThunderRoad May 8, 2015 3:14 AM BST
Agree Alan Johnson's a good bet @ 33/1. If he stands, he'll win.
Report Eeternaloptimist May 8, 2015 3:15 AM BST
He's a logical candidate but he just hasn't wanted it thus far and he's getting on a bit now.
Report mafeking May 8, 2015 3:20 AM BST
he's far too old surely. missed his chance in not being prepared to boot out ed in the last couple of years
Report Steamship May 8, 2015 3:23 AM BST
Think he will play a role like Michael Howard did with the Cons

Andy Burnham.
Report mafeking May 8, 2015 3:27 AM BST
they can't be giving away the next election though which having johnson would as leader would almost certainly mean

I hold my nose and attempt to suppress a guffaw but watch this space. Chuka Umuna. Wink

Andy Burnham.
Report mafeking May 8, 2015 3:42 AM BST
with the unions holding so much sway they could elect another leader who has absolutely no chance of winning a general election
Report Eeternaloptimist May 8, 2015 4:12 AM BST
Good. They are thick and deserve to get starched again.
Report tobermory May 8, 2015 5:11 AM BST
Chuka being talked up
Report tictacman1 May 8, 2015 5:14 AM BST
evett cooper in frame too

There's got to be a recognition within the party that Labour has to move away from the polished, unprincipled, 40 somethings that made up their leaders election campaign in 2010 and their shadow cabinet since then.

Not many people fit the bill.

Chukka for me.

Although looking at the quailty on offer you could give Facts and Pandora a squeak.
Report bigmo May 8, 2015 6:40 AM BST
I worry Facts may be a broken man after this.

Burham lost in last contest and if they get Cooper they have no chance could turn milk sour
