Seems to me that this product serves no purpose whatsoever, it just sits around all day gathering on window sills and especially likes the Tv and Glass TV/Sky/DVD stand.

It wouldn't surprise me if it blows in from Eastern Europe

Terrible stuff that should be banned immediately.

Most household dust is dead skin shed by the occupants.

^ that's an urban myth

I remember when I was about 12, a teacher said dust was dead skin but I've often thought since that it is an urban myth.

Probably more likely to be tiny particles of matter that are in the air eg sand, dirt, fibres etc

It keeps women occupied.

Each of us gets a completely new layer of skin every month, so all that old skin must go somewhere.

It's all sorts of things; dust mite poo, bits of plant seed, a little dead skin, ash from burnt things, hair and broken down hair and much much more.

Most of our dead skin is washed away when we shower or have a bath.

It's amazing how quickly dust can build up though.

It's kind of dangerous as well. How many forumites I wonder have laptops or PCs and they've never tried to clear the dust from the fan / heatsink, so they are liable to overheating?

The romans used to oil then scrape their skin with a scraping tool to clean it, so I'm guessing their homes were relatively dust free ..

well apart from pompei LaughWhoops

Dust is there so that women can see where they've cleaned. It saves dusting the same bit twice.

The best thing about dust is what lives in it:

I'm sure there are a few around here, I wonder how big something has to be before you can call them pets?

The feckers back on the TV Stand again, just lying there, mocking me to fetch a cloth and try to remove it.
