My adopted orphan cat was lying in bed when I went round to feed him. He came towards me stretching his legs and purring, looking to have his ears tickled. Soon after he was off outside and over the fence into the neighbour's garden. I've no idea what he was going to do there.

move house before Christmas we had a feral cat that lived in the shed I had fed him for years, he was too wild to take in the house and also the wife claims to be alergic to cats. (BS IMO). anyway I got a friend who lives across the road who also has cats to look after him, I haven't heard anything about for a while so I am going to go around tomorrow to see if he is ok. I used to think that making domestic cats wear bells would solve the fledgling predation problem, but apparently this does not work effectively. Current thinking suggests that adding them to the "general list" would be the most effective aid to protection of our songbird population, with .22 live being the most suitable method of dispatch.

Padlock ask your local zoo for some lion/tiger/panther dung and spread it around your garden. The cats will think a big cat lives there and steer clear.
