The same as the rest of Europe would have done before it got taken over by bleeding heart liberals.
One or two boats would get mysteriously sunk and that would be the end of it.
No others would risk the journey.

Quite a lot of these boats sink, mysteriously and otherwise, it doesn't appear to have the deterrent effect you suggest.

It would put me off taking the trip if I knew that there was little chance of surviving the journey.

It would seem that 'little chance' is incentive enough. That's a measure of their desperation.

apparently they're paying the traffickers on average £3500 per person. You could buy your own boat with that.

i heard somewhere you could hire a pedalo for a few euros and pedal across the med.....think it was some film .

Why are they fleeing Africa? Surely now the colonial powers are not running the show it blossoms?
