Poundland have reported annual sales in UK and Ireland up 11.8% to £1.1 bn
(I've emailed the PR office to ask what that equates to in volume of units)

yes the pound shop is not always the cheapest but people think that way.

Many of the items on sale in our local Poundland and 99p shop are available for less in Wilkinsons in the same street. |

I have to drive 10 miles to get to my local Poundland and pay £2 to park my car, it's easier to buy all my cr@p off ebay.

Going back to around 2002, my missus bought a computer game from a pound shop. And then she went back and bought several more.
She sold them all on ebay for good profit. I remember one selling for £52  but most went for £25 - £35 |
