Breaking Bad being shown on a new Sky channel

The new channel is called Spike and it's something to do with C5. Kicks off on the 15th of this month I believe.

Breaking Bad is very very good and a must see.There will be the odd person come on here saying it's not that great but the vast majority of people I've spoken to about it think it's brilliant.

Breaking Bad is returning to free-to-air television in the UK. Viacom’s soon-to-launch Spike UK has announced that the series will premiere on at Wednesday April 15th at 11pm, and will continue to air on weekdays in the same time-slot.

Created by Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad follows Walter White (Bryan Cranston) a mild-mannered chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. When White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of only two years left to live, he becomes filled with a sense of fearlessness and an unrelenting desire to secure his family’s financial future at any cost as he enters the dangerous world of drugs and crime.

As previously reported, Spike UK’s acquisition of Breaking Bad from series producer and international distributor Sony Pictures Television means that this will be the first time that all five season have aired on UK television. The first season original aired on FX UK, the series then moved to Spike’s sister outlet Channel 5 for its second season. However, citing low ratings, C5 opted not to air the remaining seasons. That said, all five seasons, as well as spin-off Better Call Saul, have been made available on Netflix UK.

A few points.
- Presume Spike will be on the Sky Box?

- Don't think there's any HD channel of this Spike?

- Series 2 starts on the 24th, so rushing it through

Breaking Bad ( along with Game of Thrones) are the best seasons of film quality drama you are ever likely to have witnessed before. Absolutely stunning !

I'm still to watch Game of thrones , did start but like to watch things in full without missing anything & sky just take episodes down unless you have boxsets (gonna cancel soon as everything's available online anyway)

why are they showing it at 11pm, should be on at 9pm ?

it says channel 160 but no sign of it on listings

I think the ending was a bit of a letdown but all the Wow moments had already happened by then (plane crash was v good)

Currently, no deal has been agreed to show this channel on Virgin Media - they'll have to get their skates on if they are going to get it!

I read that Sons of Anarchy is also being re-run on Spike TV which is another good watch for anyone who hasn't already seen it.

It's the UK version of the North American channel of the same name. Spike is part of the Channel 5 family of services, following media giant Viacom's recent acquisition of Channel 5.

I forgot to mention that "Oz" is currently being re-run on CBS Action every night. They are already well into season one but I think there was five or six seasons.

Spyke is a C5 channel , not a Sky channel (or, to be more accurate, its Viacom channel (they own C5)).    Oz is superb.

Spyke replaces the anodyne Viva channel

it is not on virgin, but it is on Freeview.   Sky subscribers will surely get it also, as those poor sods pay thru the nose already.

This is what I plan to do from now onwards , cancelling sky , sick of buffering online films etc

It does make you smile some of the comments on here at times. I accept that not everyone will enjoy this but comments like overhyped dullathon , drivel are just pathetic.

It's good but I find it a bit far fetched.

Agree MC,i'm enjoying it and haven't missed one yet (record them and watch on a weekend as 11 pm is crazy imo)however it took me a while to get what all the fuss was about and obviously the the star's medical condition makes parts of it a bit grim.
Everyone told me it was much watch and its good and maybe gets better? but The Sopranos still comfortably no.1 for me.

It gets better and better. Just when you think 'how can they 'top' that ?' - they do !

Got up to part 3 and the ludicrous tom and jerry chase for the drugs between the 2 stars was enough for it to be deleted from SkyPlus.....but unfortunately not from in my head.
