Good afternoon, gentlemen.
This is a long shot to say the least, but does anyone know of a decent timber merchant who might be willing to make up a small mail order of mahogany boards? Every one I have tried has either knocked me back because the order doesn't meet thier minimum requirements or declined to cut and sand the pieces to size, which is necessary as I no longer have the necessary tools.
I need five pieces:
Piece 1. 1238mm long by 159mm wide by 15mm thick.
Piece 2. 1238mm long by 159mm wide by 15mm thick.
Piece 3. 1161mm long by 91mm wide by 15mm thick.
Piece 4. 1161mm long by 91mm wide by 15mm thick.
Piece 5. 1161mm long by 91mm wide by 28mm thick.
Although the lengths and widths listed above need to be exact, the thickness measurements are approximate and a few millimetres either way would be fine.

Pokermonster, you do NOT want to be working a hardwood with hand tools, even if the supplier won't machine it for you, your local Joinery company would be happy to help for a few quid as it only a couple of minutes work on a saw bench then through a thickness planer and wide belt sanding machine.
Check the above out before committing to a purchase of Mahogany/Iroko. (Iriko is plentiful and a widely used sub for mahogany) if it's not finished to your spec.

Do you know that there is a stigma attached to Mahogany?

I would stick to just using one supplier. They prefer a mahoganymous relationship. 
Does anybody remember that filly trained by Charlie Nelson in the 80s?
Don't remember that one Vel, but Homer had one and it won the Troy stakes ridden by Agamemnon, sadly it was a walkover (more a stand over) so it's been bigged up ever since, esp by that well known common tata Virgil to make it more exiting, apparently!

Vel, don't worry mate, it's my memory that's facked. M.E, (bedridden for 4 years) left my recent memory since the 80s useless. On the plus side I can watch films I've seen before again and again, after a reasonable time frame, say 2yrs. Seriously!!. There is a plus side to everything

Coming to a Hillybillys near you, well the virtual ones anyway. On a serious note, I saw Arkle, (when I was 15)and the flat greats Sea bird, Nijinsky, etc,etc,etc, in the flesh, (grew up in a racing family) but racing today is just as good and holds the same thrill as it always had.

The original suggestion from Paris came up trumps. £85 for the five pieces, plus VAT and postage. Very reasonable.

One thing to note there are different types of mahogany.
That Iriko will make you sweat if you have to work it by hand.

Yes, I know that only too well, Doc. I used to be a cuemaker so have quite a decent knowledge of woodworking, but that was nearly twenty years ago and I no longer have any tools. Fortunately, the supplier is prepared to cut and sand to my required sizes, all that will be needed (fingers crossed) is a final rubbing down and finishing.
