Must have been 15 yards INSIDE his own half.

Record?

Certainly further away than when Beckham scored from his own half.

Tommy Toes is azzard as nailz, he's known throughout the 5 towns as The  Equaliser.

Even the Hanley Park Bummer steers clear of Mr. Toes.

I loved The Equaliser. Used to rush home from the pub for it.

Quite incredible, 60 yards at least. That's goal of the season sorted then.

Was our man Tommy Toes one of the infamous Stoke "Naughty Forty"? I often wondered about that.

Goalie's playing superbly. Not superbly well, as commentators say!

Costa off, shame. Out again.

At least it brought us a glimse of the lovely Chelsea physio.

She looks a bit like Lampard's missus Christine Bleakley.

Nah, much more attractive. On a par with Lineker's missus.

Am I alone not being overly impressed with this sort of goal. I would imagine that most professional footballers can hoof the ball  at the opposition goal from the half way line, all that is required is for the goalie to be switched off standing in the wrong spot.

Good evening Evgeny, thanks for remembering. If you could substitute my wife for a cat named Pebbles please, who is a recent addition. The wife went her own way many years ago. ;-)

Rooneys was more entertaining...his goal from the halfway line had a extra bounce.

I would imagine it's not easy even if you're the only person on the pitch. I remember hot shot Peter Lorimer attempting it at Leeds before the match started in the 70s and he was off target a few times from a good few attempts.

Didn't someone score from inside his own half againast Stoke a couple of seasons ago?  For Wigan, I think.

Kenny,

I'm not saying it wasn't a good goal, I just don't see it as impossible for the majority of professional footballers to execute, I saw Mike Jones at Crawley Town score one of them and he is no world beater.

I would put something like Eric Lamela's Rabona kick in the incredible bracket- I just dont know how you start to try that without falling over your feet.

By the way, I think that overhead kicks are in the over rated bracket as well, most strikers can manage them, question of luck whether they fly inHappy

I know you're not TS.I just think it's very difficult thing to execute correctly. For the few we've seen hundreds will have been missed.Happy

It was a good goal though the goalkeeper was not even in his area when Adams kicked it, it was great foresight but it was a completely open net which the goalkeeper all but saved.

Adams was on the  far perimeter of the centre circle in his own half when he struck the shot.

Yep - near the middle of the pitch.  Figueroa's was from nearer the touchline and nearer the half way line, and I'd guess that Figueroa's had to travel further, though there wouldn't be much in it.

Chances of hitting the target from there at least 20/1 imo.
