The MBP in question is a few years old now and came without any Spreadsheet s/ware. Operating system is O S X

Anyone also in this position who uses some FREE and SAFE Spreadsheet software out there, and if so, which s/ware pse?

I use the free Google spreadsheet to manage a couple of pub poker and pool leagues.  It seems to have most, if not all, the usual Excel functions.

Just Checking : excuse my ignorance,  where would I find it ?  Apple or iTunes Store, or at a techy part of the Apple website?

MS Office online is free. All you need.

I didn't really explain it too well earlier, but you don't have to buy or download anything to use the Google spreadsheet software.  Just create an account and log on, all your documents save automatically and are there ready to use for free.

MS Office online is free ?

since when ? ......... before 2014 they were actively prosecuting users who couldn't provide a point of sale password / reg no.

........ probably since google went free with their spreadsheet
