yup , it was on TOTP on BBC4 a few weeks ago .....just about the worst song they ever did.

He produced their dreadful "End of the Century" album back in a around 1980. a horrible experience for the band. And yes "Baby I Love You" is one of the tracks.

My mate Pete says I saw them at the Brighton Centre in autumn 1979, yet I have absolutely no recollection of the event or my presence there whatsoever. None at all. Yet he reckons I was there at the front pogoing like mad. Is this sort of thing normal when you get to my age?

Reminds me of that old saying, SFBTW. If you can remember the 60s, you weren't there - if you can remember the 70s, you don't want to!

I can remember plenty of gigs from the 70s that I don't want to: Dylan at Blackbushe, Led Zep at Knebworth, plus loads of awful, plodding rock acts at the Hammy Odeon: Horslips, Rush, Lou Reed.

But the ones I ought to recall fondly have disappeared without trace. I mean, I have a t-shirt which says I saw the Only Ones in Windsor one night, and I distinctly remember having a slash in a urinal outside the castle on the way home when a bloke from school standing next to me started absent-mindedly humming Glad To Be Gay. But of the concert, the venue, the music ... nothing whatsoever.
