It's all quite simple, really. There's this geezer who's been turning around and saying that he's been saying things. But he didn't. He didn't turn around and tell ANYBODY. But, this geezer, who realised that he hadn't told anybody, turned around and told them himself whilst managing to turn it around to seem like HE had done it.
This caused somebody to sidle up to him and turn around and ask him if HE'D done it. But he hadn't.
All this turning around and sidling has led to great friction being generated. The question now is whether to report the matter to the police, turn around and hit him or just scratch his eyes out!

Would it help to know that the OP is a big cheese in Betfair's IT dept?

It may explain why we don't understand his problem,

A bit like why we don't understand that after 10 years it takes 2 weeks to change the time in the system when the clocks change, or why they can't run a simple bet matching routine that doesn't keep failing.
