Absolutely shocking to watch that video, they could have easily contained that situation without the use of lethal force. I counted 5 gunshots from very close range, a simply horrific abuse of power by the police.
Report Percy Filth March 2, 2015 3:20 PM GMT
How can you possibly tell off that video?
Was he armed? You just cannot see enough to make that judgment
Report guinness2dear March 2, 2015 3:21 PM GMT
Reminded me of a pack of wolves attacking a prey. Just the usual mentality of a Yank plod.
Report Dr Crippen March 2, 2015 4:44 PM GMT
What did he expect fighting with the police.

Didn't he realise they carry guns.
Report ebulGery March 2, 2015 7:56 PM GMT
I do not think that entitles them to shoot an unarmed man, does it Dr Crippen?

Still he had committed the worst crime of all in the USA, being poor

Coming here soon

Gun crazy America. Sad Whoever fired the shots should be looking at a murder charge.
Report Just Checking March 2, 2015 8:22 PM GMT
From what I've read, in the struggle he managed to get one of the guns from one of them, which is why it escalated to that.
Report ebulGery March 2, 2015 8:25 PM GMT
That changes it a bit Just Checking

Still it hardly looks good for the police again

This follows on from them shooting a 12 year child and a 105 year old man from memory
Report TiptheOdds March 2, 2015 8:25 PM GMT
the guy was tazed before they shot him...he obviously made a jerky movement like he was going for his gun...

One way for O´Bama to get rid of America´s homeless I suppose.

What, fighting with the police doesn't entitle the police to shoot them for it?

No it doesn't - but they did.
Report brassneck March 2, 2015 9:34 PM GMT
I seen this on utube  this morning, the tazor (stun gun)goes off before the real guns,so the guy had to be helpless when he was shot dead.
Report guinness2dear March 2, 2015 9:51 PM GMT
He supposedly "reached" for one of the officers guns. I have seen nothing from anywhere that says he had hold of one of them. Of course when there is two of them on yer legs and 2 on yer chest, it could be conceivable that the deceased was just trying to move. He was shot 4 times.

As a rule I like americans. Met many over the years. Sound people in the main.

However, the police are something else. The seem to take pleasure from inflicting pain (or worse) on the vulnerable -and are always exonerated.

The black guy taken down a while back by some snidey police cnunt from behind and choked to death just about sums up these cowardly animals.
Report Angel Gabrial March 2, 2015 10:12 PM GMT
Surprised no one has mentioned the colour of the yank policeman.
Report Capt__F March 2, 2015 11:34 PM GMT
yellow

The man had been living 10 years in a mental institution

Probably a strong man, a difficult man

His mental state was poor, doubt he wanted to kill the police

I regard this as a failure myself, surely they should have been able to subdue and arrest him, without killing him
Report ebulGery March 3, 2015 12:41 AM GMT
The police are in front line in the ever ending problems between black and white in America

But things like this do not help

I have no answer to Americas cultural problems, cultures are notoriously difficult to change

As indeed is America's own gun culture

We can change our World, changing ourselves is infinitely more difficult

Something our Politicians sadly forget at times
Report Clungehungry March 3, 2015 12:41 AM GMT
Sad story, again. Life becomes cheap when you let everyone have a gun, including the police. Priority should have been to look after him.
Report ebulGery March 3, 2015 12:41 AM GMT
very true clunge
Report ebulGery March 3, 2015 11:33 AM GMT
I would agree with that fozwald

LAPD seem to have a policy of bring them in

Dead or AliveShocked

this is hardly a good advert for them

My brother is a senior policeman, on Friday he is getting an award for services rendered after 20 years of working the tough streets of London and all that entails. Not once in all that time has he shot or tasered anyone. That video was simply horrific to my eyes and the clinical death of that man could so easily have been avoided.
