Their bark is worse than their bite - but only if you're rich.

Then they post up names of a mobile hairdresser and some other person who was behind with their taxes, then when questioned about this rich conservative sponsor, say they cannot comment about individual cases.

Just like a playground bully going after easy targets.

Ye all need to realise (if you don't) that we are not that far from the middle ages. Only now the evil barons and landowners get paid to fook ye over. The peasants of course are still thr same, work like fahook all your life just to get your pension stolen from under your sackcloth at the last minute. At least the barons put ye out of your misery a lot earlier..

Didnt Lester have to spend some time @ her majestys pleasure?

Piggott, whose personal fortune is estimated at £20m, is said to have used different names to channel his earnings in secret bank accounts in Switzerland, the Bahamas, Singapore and the Cayman Islands.

The nine times Derby winner has been prosecuted in the biggest individual income tax-dodging case ever brought in Britain and the sentence is the highest to be passed for a personal tax fraud.

High profile case that sticks in memory, while the real fraudsters have been cleaning out the country for last 30 years untouched

An owner had laid on a plane after the afternoon meeting to make sure he could take up his mount at Scottish evening meeting. LP kindly offered several other jocks a lift in 'his' plane. They all thanked Lester profusely and took up his kind offer. Several weeks later they all got a bill through the post.

The funny thing is Switzerland seems to escape any action, we should be treating them like a despot country with sanctions to cripple them, filth.
Report geoff m February 14, 2015 10:47 AM GMT
I suppose it was Lesters lack of confidence in that he could keep his future earnings  going after Snowy Wainwright told him "you will never ride for me again" that led him to salt away a few million from the tax man.
Wonder how many of the high profile names involved will suffer the similar fate
That said having already taken the tax payer for a ride couping them up inside to cost anthoer £xx,000 of pounds @ our expense aint the best idea

Remember Doddy's opening gag following his acquittal after his trial for tax evasion. Something along the lines of :

'In 1798 Sir Robert Peel introduced Income Tax at a rate of two old pence in the pound. My problem was that I thought that was still the rate'

Cue hysteria.

Benefits fraudsters get jail. Tax avoiders and bankers who facilitate it get let off with a small fine.

One law for the rich and another for the poor. The system encourages tax avoidance.
