Expect Scotland to go Dry before long

The churches will soon be packed out

And English pubs on the border to profit
You cant make it up

I would love to explain this in simple terms, the decline is down to the people that cannot now risk having one pint of beer, this rule makes it so much easier not to go out at all.

It maybe wrong to even drink one bit when you go out and drive, but that is not we are discussing here, this about wrecking a part of british heritage.

Crack on fred, i wont ever bother with you again with your stupid post like 20:29

good luck.

Now you state the laws make it easier for people not to go out at all, so how exactly are you suggest pubs on the border will make more money?

60% drop

So the average Scot is just on one bottle of whisky a night now!

Anecdotal evidence from what I've seen up here is that there are a lot of people who now aren't sure where they stand and so are erring on the side of caution which is a good thing. Previously people wrongly made the assumption that they could have a skin full the night before and drive the next day on the basis that it would be out of their system the following day. The new law has made people ask questions. A few lads at work have asked me how quickly alcohol tends to leave the system and are shocked by the knowledge that there is every chance that they wouldn't be fit to drive for many hours after they actually did previously drive. Which was always the case but the change in the law has caused a seismic shift in attitudes. Whether this newly discovered concern continues is debatable.

The new drink drive law is fecking ridiculous and is another classic example of the SNP legislating for headlines.

England and Scotland should use a drink drive system similar to this..

Motorway driving max 2 pints
Dual Carriageway max 3 pints
50 mph single track max 4 pints
Urban 30 mph areas max 5 pints
Rural lanes max 8 pints

Let's hope they come down as heavily on the idiots who text and use their phone while driving. Being distracted by a phone is much more dangerous than driving after one pint.

What are you going on about, I am saying it is ridculous to suggest that Scottish people will drive to English pubs to boost their profits.

I am not sure what you and Ibrahim are misunderstanding here.

drinking is so last century

not for some of usShocked

I am surprised any pubs are still in business...especially Scotland

No smoking(ridiculous), price of alcohol, now this..does not do a lot for our economy

We are living in a  women's worldSad

The problem is ebul that some people say that about 8 or 9 pints.
Alcohol does make you more confident.

I think you concentrate more after 4 or 5 pints just in case the Old Bill is about.Plain
By:

When: 15 Feb 15 13:38
It varies for different people ..although the current limits would catch the 8/9 pints drinker Akabula

I know I am fairly safe on two pints....it is just when I go to the dogs, 3 over a period

If someone can't have a couple of pints/shorts in a pub what sort of world are we creating

We are becoming too risk adverse this will harm us in the long term

As well as making life soddin miserableSad

When I was younger young men would regularly kill themselves on fast motorcycles and in fast cars

None of that now, insurance probably kills it, ok we may saved few lives, but we have taken away something

young men like doing.....take a risk..I disapprove, its not natural
By:
akabula
When: 15 Feb 15 14:21
Yes but the problem is it isn't just their own lives that they were risking but that of others.
By:
ebulGery
When: 15 Feb 15 14:52
Life is not risk free...and we all die anyway

maybe I go a little OTT...to shock

But I believe we are harming ourselves by our increased risk adverseness

If I was them I would say give up the SNP

Drink driving hasn't got anything to do with risk taking its more to do with being a complete ****. I know because I used to do it when I was young and only by luck did I get away with not seriously harming someone.

No fan of the SNP but there is another choice ebul.
They could act responsibly and take a bus or a taxi to the pub.

You have been well programmed do not let me discourage you

What the SNP does today, I fear this country will do tomorrow

In fact the current level will do, just enforce it more rigorously that is all
By:
akabula
When: 15 Feb 15 15:32
ebul it's nothing to do with being programmed, it's purely common sense.
TBH only a totally stupid cant would drink and drive knowing the limits.
Research has shown that even a small amount can impair the reaction times in certain individuals.
By:
ebulGery
When: 15 Feb 15 15:43
My point is the current limit is ok, so why reduce it

So I am back to we are taking risk adverseness to ridiculous levels, why?

It only makes life more miserable, I cannot see the point
By:
akabula
When: 15 Feb 15 15:46
ebul if you want to risk your own life then fair doos.
Go walk on a cliff path blindfolded or something.
Just don't drive your car drunk as you risk others lives.
Unless of course you think that is your right.
By:
ebulGery
When: 15 Feb 15 19:17
I do not drive my car drunk

This reduction is unnecessary
