Another thing that I can't get my head around is the fact that the McCanns have refused to do an interview on tv to answer all questions.
I saw Gerry on the Tv and the reporter asked him a question re the dogs and Gerry's response was "Why don't you ask the dogs". |
|
By:
dont think we'll ever get to the bottom of this, probably the only person who knows the full story is the priest the mccanns reportedly confided in.
|
|
By:
BTW I don't subscribe to any particular theory and if forced would probably come down on the side of an abduction.
In saying that there is no concrete proof of one but neither is there any concrete proof of anything else. But, as I've said, I can't fathom out why the McCanns won't do a 'warts n'all' tv interview. They would be paid fortunes which they could add to the 'Find Madeleine Fund' so why won't they do it. Strange. |

akabula....they wont go on telly till they agree wot questions will be asked which is normal for anyone thats lost a child & hopes to find them...........

31 Detectives involved yet the only help Ben Needham's family received in the aftermath of his disappearance were two, maybe three, photo's of 'how he would look now' distributed by the police.
I often wonder how his family feel given the millions being spent on this case and the minimal help they received. |

Akabula, Why does any lawyer worth his salt tell their clients to make no comment? F**k me, this place is supposed to have sharp minds It's normally clients who are facing court proceedings who get that advice not people looking for a lost child. And they are told to keep quiet so as not to incriminate themselves further. FFS and I thought the McCanns apologists were sharp. What an appalling excuse. |
|
By:
Did you miss the bit where they were declared 'Persons of Interest'?
And its not as if the case is lacking publicity that such an interview would provide. |
|
By:
Perhaps you also missed the book that the Head Detective wrote effectively incriminating them?
A foreign country, already declared suspects, the Detective's book, an internet industry surrounding their guilt......and you think they should sit down and open themselves up to further incrimination? Seriously? To whose benefit exactly? And please don't say Maddie's because we already have blanket coverage. |

I live in portugal and i can give you the view of most of my neighbours,
firstly if she is dead the she probaly wont be found because if a local portuguese has disposed of the body then it would be in a Fossa,90 percent of portugal is not on mains sewers we have fossas brick or block built can be 3mtsx3mtx2mts deep,i have been here 9 years and dont expect mine to be emptied for at least another 10 years, only acces by a small manhole cover,to keep bactira going its normal hear to chuck from time to time a dead animal in,if anyone thinks the loal GNR have looked in anyones fossa then sorry no chance, sorry to be so grafic and not meant in bad taste but juat what people think, also most think of the GNR as corrupt lazy and arrogant,i know i do. |

I said it would generate extra cash for the 'Find Madeleine Fund'. As regards your other points what is there to come out that could incriminate them? Through their appalling selfish behaviour they have lost a daughter, maybe they should concentrate their thoughts on that rather than themselves. |
|
By:
just get them to do a lie detector each in a different room.
And also the group they where dining with. They have a missing daughter, surely they would do anything that may help with the case. |

Searching for their missing child and their lawyer has told them not to say anything in case it incriminates them according to Ozy.
Am I missing something here? |
|
By:
As regards your other points what is there to come out that could incriminate them?
Absolutely every thing they say or do is interpreted through a prejudiced/negative prism. If they made a mistake or recalled a fact incorrectly in the interview that would be seized upon by internet bloggers worldwide as further proof of guilt. Or worse the Portuguese authorities. They would be inevitably accused of not crying or not crying enough etc etc. In short there is nothing to gain from such an interview. Only downside. |

Go and kick some more cats, hard case.

Would love to her your views if an immigrant or person of colour was up to same. Speaks to a lackk of moral compass. What i do know is that any money he collects in such a manner will never bring him any luck. A shameful way to live a life. |

They were advised to remain silent because it soon became apparent that Amaral wanted to fit them up with a murder/manslaughter charge.
The much-touted 48 questions they wouldn't answer were not designed to help in finding a lost child, they were questions that would be asked in a murder inquiry. They did not trust Amaral...and I, for one, don't blame them! |

Would you trust the McCanns with your child?
|
|

Is that relevant?

By:
Maybe.

Ok then. Yes, I would. It still isn't relevant to this thread. Possibly create a new one?

The much-touted 48 questions they wouldn't answer were not designed to help in finding a lost child, they were questions that would be asked in a murder inquiry. They did not trust Amaral...and I, for one, don't blame them! The police had to ask questions. They couldn't just take the McCanns word for it being an abduction. The McCanns should have been prepared to answer everything put to them. |
|
By:
And how would answering questions help to find the kid? Apart from something like "Does she like animals?" which might lead to a search of the local zoo. Although, to my knowledge there isn't one.
|
|
By:
For the simple reason naydam that they could have convinced the police that they weren't guilty of anything other than bad parenting and allowed them to focus on an abduction.
By not co-operating they reinforced the notion that they were guilty of something else and hence hindered the investigation. |

a friend of mine is a district nurse. she reckons that it is common practice for doctors with young families to sedate their own children when on holiday - basically they think they are clever enough to play God with sedatives.

How many times does a detective have to ask you "What have you8 done with the body?" before you decide that this guy is trying to pin a murder on you.
And how long does it take the detective to realise that he needs more evidence. "The child isn't here, so she must be somewhere outside...I think I'll go and look for her!" Amaral's problem was that he operated on the 'Its usually a parent or somebody close to the family in cases like this'. Well, he was wrong. He expected a simple quick result but he didn't get it. He couldn't find any evidence and there was too much outside observation to just resort to beating a confession out of them. |

27 Mar 15 00:08 Amaral's problem was that he operated on the 'Its usually a parent or somebody close to the family in cases like this'. Well, he was wrong. A bold statement, I fear. |
|
By:
Well, if he was right...he certainly made a pig's ear out of what would have been a very simple case. I wonder if he would make the same claims and support the same rumours and misinformation if he could go back to square one?
Somehow, I doubt it. And speaking of bold claims...what about HIS bold claims? |
|
By:
naydam you have contested every point that has been made on here that shows the McCanns in a bad light.
Not some but every one, well with the exception that they left their kids alone but everyone knows that to be the truth so no real syrprise you didn't try to deny that. Makes me think you are one of the many they have on forums doing similar. You related or just a friend. |

|
|
By:
Well, I'd love to fit in with the rest of you but none of you have any answers as to what did they do with the body. That's all that Amaral had to do...instead of writing about what supposedly happened, just show some evidence.
A couple of questions for you all: How long did the body remain in the apartment? How long does it take for 'cadaver odour' to develop? |
|
By:
Akabula. I'll agree with anything that is the truth, but I won't just accept wild theories which accuse two parents of killing their child. I can't how any of you can. You are doing yourself a disservice if you just glibly accept all of the rumours to be true.
So, I am not an apologist for anything or anybody. I just want people to form their opinions on what makes sense and not on misleading tittle-tattle. |
