Ukraine?

After the break up of the Soviet Union he's just trying to flex his muscles to get Russia back on the World stage. He doesn't seem a zealot and rightly or wrongly he's just protecting his Russian speaking people by interfering in Ukraine. The break up of USSR wasn't clean and many peoples are stuck in countries they don't want to be a part of.

I have no views of him one way or the other.
