Is there a new series of Spiral or you watching old ones?
By:
New series of Spiral been on Beeb4 for last 3 weeks .....I put a thread up before it started.
Fortitude was enjoyable ,but like Mr Ecclestone's other current show The Leftovers .....a bit baffling. |
By:
Series 5 is on BBC3 sat night. As far as I know its the latest one.
By:
all eps still on bbc iplayer.

Ecclestone dead in episode 1? (strictly 2, I suppose) Going to be lots of flashbacks. Or a miraculous Lazarus-style thingee. Dead mammoths are 2 a penny in reality. Ancient viruses? Yawn. I liked it though. Watching Tucci trying to make sense of his deus ex machina role worth the admission fee alone. With a cast like that how can you lose? Hope we don't find out.

By:
I thought I saw Eccelstone on a chat show saying that he hoped to be back for Season 2???
By:
I liked it.
had to go back over it as the constant scene switches made it difficult to know the minor characters. |
By:
Maybe a stab in the dark, but just maybe that eccelstone may not be dead yet. ie he is not finnish.
When i mean dead, i mean still has a part to play. Agree, spiral is top notch. |

Thanks for the heads up, completely forgot about this. Will check it out on the dodgy box.
Completely agree about Spiral, every series has been excellent. Well acted and written. Continues the fine programming of European drama on beeb 4 on Saturday nights. May even consider buying a tv licence now! Hopefully a new series of The Killing or Wallender will follow. |
By:
Just watched the 1st episodes......and it can only get better. Acting is quite average, but the scenery looks superb.
Ps, Jewish series called Hostages starts in a fortnight on beeb 4. |
By:
Watched Jackpot again last night , 84 minutes of insanity , wonderful stuff.
The Hollywood obsession with making every film 150 minutes or more whether it is needed or nit as a selling feature is a huge turn off . |
By:
No more The Killing or Wallender , but The Bridge series 3 on it's way. Minus Martin though , think he objected to the route they were taking his character.
Les Revenants series 2 also finally being filmed. They won't be able to continue the story though as the children will be have grown too much , without recasting. |
By:
I enjoyed it, spectacular scenery, atmospheric and interesting... but, as someone has already observed, the death of dr who must mean multiple "the missing"-style flashbacks, just hoping it doesn't into WALOFS; promising so far, though

was there really any need for the Pig

By:
Thought it was decent, will definitely stick with it.
The Leftovers was brilliant. |
By:
watching it now
By:
Fatty you Ozy as well ..?
By:
was there really any need for the Pig?
that was a crackling scene imo |
By:
i see what you did thereIt'll be giving me head panics for weeks ![]() |
By:
Enjoyed and will stick with it.
By:
mass confusion here
wtf is going on? |
By:
Very dull episode last night .
By:
Stinking episode, one more of that then it is finnish.
Told us nothing, the only important point was why was the cop in the house at the time of the crime, then that point was not discussed. |
By:
might not have told us much but raised a few questions - obviously they're not going to reveal all in the second week are they?
By:
Hardly an excuse for an hour of tedium.
Padding dramas out with these type of episodes is what gets them canned. 9 episodes to go , there will be nobody watching by then if it is like episode 2. |
By:
Found Spiral on catch-up TV and currently downloading episodes 1-8.

By:
Joci , I don't think it is as good as some of the previous series , but still better than most of the drivel on the box.
By:
First episode was just about tolerable, the second was complete sh!te.
By:
Watched the 2nd episode last night, boring.
A word about Hostages mentioned above. I watched the American version, and it was the most far fetched pile of shyte I've ever seen. I ended up treating it like a comedy. No surprise it was shelved after one series, it just didn't work for me. |
By:
The show so far is trying to be too clever for its own good.
The storyline isn't going forward as no one has a fecking clue what's going on. (well I don't) As prev poster said, one more episode if things aren't moving forward ill jack it in too. |
By:
walofs
Every fooker in the town is a suspect, nearly 4 hours of nothing. Sky should stick to importing yank stuff. |
By:
Very disappointing , last two episodes have treaded water ....I won't be wasting any more time on this rubbish.
By:
I have not watched any but have recorded it every week to watch at a later date but after reading what you guys have said I wont even bother anymore.
By:
total garbage, and a waste of a good cast
I'm not sure if there is nothing going on, or if there is something going on but I'm paying so little attention it's not registering |
By:
Hopefully a new series of The Killing or Wallender will follow.
Wallender got Alzehiemers so might need a bit longer than an hour to solve a case. |
By:
I think its ok but as alluded to above , trying to be too clever at times. certainly not warrant all the hype I take it a lot of money has been invested in it.
By:
Interest starting to wane, like everyone else's it seems..
30 Degrees in February started on Friday night and was very promising. Glenn ![]() |
